Because the meager money that having them for football only wouldn't be worth the humiliation of having them for football only while they keep their better, more important sport in a better league.

I wouldn't worry much about THAT problem, Cougar. If you want to worry about the ramifications of UConn choosing the C-7, worry about whether you want to accept the MWC invite that follows.

The MWC would want Houston and SMU to get their eastern wing back into Texas. If they could offer Houston and SMU all sports and Cinci and UConn football only I think they might do it if those teams agreed to the SDSU terms. 1) It would clearly position the MWC as the best of the rest 2) their deal gets better with more teams that can be sold in the second tier. 3) Losing UConn and Cinci isn't a huge deal for them because they can be replaced with Tulsa or even UTSA if they are good when they bail. 4) we already have Hawaii football only in the west so administratively we have to figure out football only shares anyway.

If Conn makes more money with C-7, there gone.
It would keep BB tourn in MSG, WBB tourn in Hartford
If NBE does not let Conn in FB only
ESPN takes care of them as indepentent
