RE: Executive order list
Realistically, I have no problem with requiring a call to the State Police when privately selling a gun... I've always done it anyway to CYA, except for when I know the person well enough to know they aren't a felon. BUT it's a pipe-dream b/c it's impossible to enforce without a National database of gun-owners, which crosses the line.

I've bought and sold hundreds of guns; never had a felon attempt to buy one from me, never bought one without a check, and know these EO's (like a creating gun czar) would have done NOTHING to stop mass murders.

How about getting rid of gun-free zones? How about getting the bums working the system to get disability off the system, so that people who NEED mental health can get it? A buddy of mine is a vetran and can't get an appointment to get his sessions for over 6 MONTHS. How about a reimbersement program where they can seek private help, and the military reimberses them?

Real solutions from Obama? Yeah, f'n right. He's on a mission to de-arm everyone, and as Fast & Furious proved the crimals are his best friends to get it done.

Many of them make it much easier to do just that though. Like finally getting a head of the ATF, etc.

Do you know that the ATF still basically has the same number of agents that they've had for nearly 40 years?

Way too many. What kind of kluged together is the ATF anyway? Not coincidentally, it's on most people's short list of departments to get rid of in order to bring some fiscal reality to the gov't.

Guns don't deter crime, public service announcements do.

I wonder how much those ready.gov psa's cost? I hear them every damn day and it seems like there are new ones all the time.
I have always wondered why they even bother playing them on rightwing radio.

My favorite is the latest one about "you never know when the day before is the day before".... then they go on to say " the day before a 175 mph hurricane". Unless I've missed something, and I don't think I have since I've lived within 50 miles of the coast of NC for the past 32 years, you DO know when the day before a 175 mph hurricane comes through. Seriously, I doubt that was a cheap radio spot since the govt did it. Couldn't they at least use something spontaneous like a tornado, a flash flood, or even a killer bee attack? Just stupid to use a hurricane for the example.
