the ACC must really be coming to the apocolypse...
Just was looking at mens hoops standings and Miami has a 2 game lead for 1st place right now after tonight's beatdown of the dukies. Man, the ACC HAS to be coming to the end after that...

Nah! End of the world stuff is a final four comprised of Auburn, Clemson, T.C.U. and Arizona State.

After TCU's performance last night in Morgantown, I think we can rule them out. I doubt WVU makes the NCAA tourney, much less TCU...

I don't know if it means the apocolypse or not, but I bet Vitale's out on a ledge somewhere... 04-cheers

Looks like Miami basketball has outgrown the ACC.

Remember when Duke, UNC, etc...looked down upon the Miami addition to the conference because of basketball...it wasn't that long ago.

Maybe not. But 'cane fans are too busy celebrating stomping of Duke's basketball team last night to worry much about it... 05-stirthepot

You do realize we aren't even close to half way through the conference season don't you? As much as I would like to see a NCSU / Miami battle for the the conference title it is more likely that Duke will make some adjustments and finish around the top of the conference. And after the Tar Heels started 0 and 2 they have now won three straight. Chances are they end up around the top as well. I hope I'm wrong.

well, we're now past the half way mark and yeah, about that Miami situation. Heck, they could be the #1 team in the COUNTRY this week! What is going on here?

and they're doing it in style:

Miami is a good illustration of what you can do when you have the core of the team together for four years as opposed to a mumber of one or two and done players. These are 20-21 year old men playing against teenagers. Add in a good coach and they can make some noise.

Good to see,

I never understood why a school like Miami with all its natural advantages, couldn't field decent basketball.

You'd think that with its south beach location and games all up the eastern sea board, at least some blue chip kids would love to play there instead of Syracuse, BC, Temple, Rutgers, Pitt and other cold, dreary NE locations even if they did have better history and tradition.

Don't be surprised if Miami migrates to the Big 10 in the next 2-3 years. The majority of the student body is from NY, NJ, PA,MD, IL who contain programs that either have or will soon have B10 programs.

1/20 of Miami's 2010 Freshman class is from Illinois

Private U's are always looking for cash cows and the BTN is certainly that.

I heard someone on the radio I believe compare them in some regards to a mid major going far in the tourney- because of just that. And think- their coach had prime experience doing just that.

Miami is the best team in the ACC, and possibly the nation.
