RE: UNC has B1G invite?
But in the mind of ABC/ESPN and Fox, its not rigged. It's an acquisition cost. Agree to pay the Big XII the same dollars in order to create a more valuable product.

Fox has a 51% stake in BTN. The value of that stake rises if Texas were inclined to join.

ABC/ESPN has a long-term stake in LHN. If they can leverage that stake to acquire an equity stake in BTN by converting LHN to a BTN sub-channel and bringing to the table existing subscribers, advertisers, and 19 years worth Texas TV rights, continuing to pay Big XII the full contract makes sense.

Right now BTN leases a number of sub-channels if they can convert those into regional BTN Southwest, Northeast, Midwest, Atlantic channels they can increase their overall stake. So a subscriber in Texas would get two BTN channels, BTN and BTN SW, the subscriber in New Jersey BTN and BTN Atlantic.

It could be the blockbuster of all time in college athletics.

The NBE would fold into the ACC if that happens not the other way around.

Better money, Better TV, Etc.

True, but if the 10 left at once, they could dissolve the conference and then nobody would have to pay exit fees. It would simplify the process immensely.

Now, to be clear, I do not think for one moment this would really happen this way. It's just a hypothetical. In reality, if this expansion happens at all, it happens piecemeal and the parts get backfilled as they happen. The ACC would not disappear or dissolve.
The ACC will not vote to destroy themselves. They may lose a few schools and maybe the court cases regarding exit fees, but I still believe they would survive in some capacity.
I always read this stuff regarding the Big XII too. So tell me the benefit of all the members voting to dissolve. Tell me what that does for the schools such as TT, Iowa State, Kansas State, TCU, and Baylor. WVU and Kansas might find a runway to land on but the other five or so would be voting to kill themselves. They will also not vote to dissolve just to trash an agreement they just signed so a few schools can leave, and niether will the ACC. JMHO...

If 10 of the 15 vote to dissolve before they walk out the door (because they're all walking out at the same time), the five who remain can't do anything about it. 2/3 majority to dissolve. Again, it's PURELY hypothetical and I would never suggest it would happen, just that it *could* happen.
