Only issue is see is the home court advantage Memphis will have if its here every year. It's a huge advantage for the team.

There is PLENTY of reasons why it will probably never be rotated much from Memphis...because that city can easily sell the most all-tourn tickets.
Some of us have noted for MONTHS how Memphis would easily be the most logical (and most profitable) choice as the host city for this new conf hoop tourn.
That's a bunch of crap. Memphis is a great town, but they are not alone as far as selling out tourneys. Cincinnati has done well with the Metro, GMC and C-USA tourneys in the past and New Orleans is a great city and travel destination spot as are Tampa and Orlando.
Cincinnati has always done a good job of managing tournaments and attending tournaments when they are doing well. I would expect the same now.
Temple and UConn fans can speak to how well a tournament would be supported in their city by their fans.
Not to step on any toes and I think everyone realistically understands this; but I just don't see many others on that list that would put a good number of fans in the stands for a season ending tournament.

It doesn't necessarily need to a NBA arena. We sell beer at on campus facilities here.

no offense but 5/3rd sucks. I would rather play at FedExForum or Amway or New Orleans Arena. When yall get 5/3rd up to snuff or replace it in a couple of years, then yall can definitely host it as good as your fanbase is.

Would prefer NOLA to Memphis. Easier travel destination, and plenty to keep you occupied if you are not an all session type. Why are so many tourneys out west in Vegas? Same would apply to NOLA.
Memphis is the most expensive little city to ever try to fly into. I don't know why, but while it's relatively cheap to fly into Nashville, Memphis rates are like every airline is getting hazard rates (who's driving? really?). Don't take me as saying that it couldn't do well in Memphis. I like the town, and fans support those Tigers amazingly well. It is a solid pick, but... if I'm picking a city where I'm trying to make a tourney a destination and entice fans from ALL schools to attend, NOLA>Memphis.

Agreed, flights in and out of Memphis are very expensive.
New Orleans is a fun place with tons of entertainment.
I wonder why the metro or CUSA never had a tournament in New Orleans.

When the local team can't sell 200 all-season tourn tickets...odds are, the tourn would be a total failure...hence why CUSA has generally stayed with Memphis most years...as thats where the $$$ are...and thats where actual FANS are.

Everyone likes coming to Orlando. It's the cheapest flight in America, plenty to do. The Amway would easily fill the lower bowl to any tourney.

Thank you.
That was the point of my comment.
I'd say that we're limited to 2 or 3 locations the first few years.

Regardless of the availability of MSG, New York has 2 major arenas and it's still the #1 tourist attraction in the country with plenty of hotel space and easy to fly in and out of from anywhere.
