IMO, the "others" will add Tulsa. Then sometime in the next year or so Cincy and UConn will figure a way to get out, at which point Navy will decide to not join. Then the "others" will need to add 3 schools to get to 12. Who will it be? No clue. I mean they added Tulane, so how the hell am I supposed to guess what Aresco and the "others" will do.

Navy has played UMass once and Tulsa twice in football. Total speculation, but Navy probably prefers another private school in the league. They like playing private schools.

Navy has played 12 games against Rice, 16 against SMU, 19 against Tulane, 12 against Wake Forest, 8 against Vandy, 29 against BC, 39 against Duke, 85 against Notre Dame, etc.

i want southern miss. umass, tulsa, rice and army would all be good. rice or tulsa for smu and houston might help things out travel wise. heck i even like latech.

I don't know if any team will be able to keep Navy on deck

It would absolutely make no business sense for a team to move to the old big east except for maybe Umass (low exit fees). Navy I believe has screwed up big time, I'm sure they had to pay out for cancelling future contract games.

The Temple poster (Screamshatter) who posted these Temple comments has been very outspoken in his support of UMASS over Tulsa. In every news article I've read the last few weeks, it either lists Tulsa as team #12 or Tulsa/UMASS as team #12. It could be that Temple &/or UCONN want another northeastern school (UMASS).

Temple isn't going anywhere. The A10 is getting raped, and back to the MAC, I don't think so.

Why do we hear WKU is going to Cusa if Umass is going to nBE.....no it will be Tulsa with Umass on desk if Navy does not join but again, Navy was at the Friday's meeting, too. Regardless, Temple is not going anywhere.......invested too much monies to be apart of nBE.

That "Navy" ship sailed away when your TV contract did.

You may be right, but that's just your guess right now. Navy hasn't said anything.

Anyway, we ask Navy who they prefer as 12, and try to get them. If Navy says we're not coming, then we'll deal with it.

If Navy doesn't come, then we better hope they take UMASS. Otherwise we're losing two more teams.

Link?

Here's a link.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nca...s/1957721/

TulsaFanzz that article says they will likley add a 12th "football" member.
Does that mean if Tulsa goes, it will be football only?

After seeing the result of their tv negotiations, will the nBE wise up and expand to 12 with the most sensible choice or will they go after another market?

Tulsa and UMass seem to be the front runners but I could defintely see schools like Ohio, Marshall, ODU, USM, UAB and others in the running, if they want to be.

Supposed statements by Temple people (off the record and from the realignment board) indicate they think they've been screwed pretty bad by the nBE and want the conference to expand in the northeast or they won't support expansion and may even consider leaving.

Welp, easy decision then for the Owls. Join the Northeast Conference.

Navy is still coming to the BE. They expressed a desire to be with the teams that are currently in the BE. At this point it's not just about the money but the football footprint.

For Temple it may not be a bad proposition if the C7 invited their Bball team.

One thing you have to remember about the C7 is they have openly said they will not split their TV money evenly. Fox paid them or in this case overpaid them because they desperately needed the TV inventory and they had to make it worth the C7 effort to split off from the Big East. Xavier and Butler both receive only $400k per year with the current A10 TV Contract so they are both willing to go to a better league with a better lineup even if the C7 won't pay them equally. Temple might be willing to do the same thing but their Basketball team won't get the $3 million + per year that the other C7 are getting while their Football team goes back to the MAC.

Southern Miss not pay 8 million for a lateral move.
