I don't need to hear any "Terrance McKenna" theory when I have the truth already. Christ says blessed is he who is not ashamed of me. And, yes, Christ turned the water into wine at the wedding when the host ran out early. Surely you are not comparing wine to drugs, are you? If you are, no need to continue this discussion with you.

Well since wine is alcohol and alcohol is a drug... Ugghhh... Yea.

Nothing like some canna butter or canna oil sugar cookies!

nastybunch do a little research on how pot became illegal in this country. Even the AMA lobbied to keep it legal.

Fire and brimstone....can't change that southern baptist culture.

You could tell him that Hearst, Dupont, etc... made hemp illegal because it would've have destroyed their empires. It wouldn't matter. It is akin to the forefathers of science being persecuted.

In macro terms, history has taught us one very valuable lesson. The doctrine of mankind has gotten it wrong every single time. From worshiping the sun, to golden idols, to mythological gods, to god. It has been the purest form of trial and error with error always being the outcome. Throughout the history of the evolution of man, the belief and control that was/is obtained by promoting a "higher power" has enslaved and killed more people than any stupid little weed. Thank GOD we developed the skills to get past the 'flat earth' movement, earth is the center of the universe, earth is 6.5K years old, the earth was created in 6 days, etc.....

Since we are the highest form of intelligence in our solar system, or universe for that matter, (that we are aware of anyway), I can only laugh at the lack of acknowledgement of this lesson and feel fortunate to be alive today than any other time in the past (except maybe the 50's to mid 60's....Ozzie and Harriet ignorance is bliss years).

IMO, ignoring what has been learned, is like running into a wall over and over again...you know it's going to hurt, but since everyone else is doing it....okay, uh yeah, and maybe we should go back to burning 'witches' or reconvene the Spanish Inquisition....that makes sense (total sarc)

It is funny that those that preach 'holiness' are most likely the type to condemn....is the ultimate irony of my experience on this planet....'they' would've stoned me to death as a kid.

pun intended?

guilty as the smoke blows

Double irony though as marijuana use would of made the death impossibly by its use.

...but he doesn't condemn or criticize (his words).....isn't there a parable about walking in someone else's shoes??? Maybe it's a phobia of watching Robert Tilton pining from the tele while eating Cheetos naked on the bean bag? (tube it nasty, b/c I know you won't get it)

Really, it's all about fear isn't it?

It would still be illegal drive under the influence or while impaired. During the first 1900+ years of Christianity, cannabis was completely legal so one could conclude that there was no demand from God that it's sinful to use it.

Our country's founding fathers grew marijuana and early laws ordered farmers to grow it. What did they know though... Stupid pointless Constitution.

You are a little off on the truth. I just went through stage 3 Colon Cancer & they gave me 6 mos to live. What saved my life was The Lord Jesus Christ, the Three Stooges & pot. Pot took away my pain & without taking most of the meds I was suppose too. Was able to eat & taste food. Had energy to move around. I know for a fact I am going to heaven & will get a crown, it may be a Burger King Crown but at least I'm getting one. People don't understand that it's the Holier than Thou Christians that have made people turn away from wanting to know or try to understand the Bible. Jesus lived among the sinners to teach love, peace & understanding not damnation but salvation. You my friend are the type that scare people away from the Lord.

Very little difference between Mississippi and North Carolina pot laws. We allow 30 grams (little over a oz) with punishment being up to 90 days in jail (never happens) and up to a $1000 fine. You guys allow up to 42 grams (about 1.5 oz) with a $500 fine and 120 days in jail.

Actually, both states have decriminalized cannabis possession laws.

Easter is just around the corner.....

It's funny to me how the fire and brimstone christians ALWATS start this bs....then the atheists/agnostics/religious liberals retort...next thing you know, nobody can remember what the thread topic was even about....

And, of course, you people can not be farther from the truth with your statements, but that is OK. The Lord says blessed is he that not ashamed of me. That is enough for me. Seems to me the ones who can hear the truth will hear it, and those that criticize the ones that do can not hear. I am glad you have been saved and in remission, and it is only the Lord that can do so, but if I scare away some from the Lord, they didn't want to hear about him any way. That is where YOU are wrong.

^THIS^

1000 years from now, the educated will view us the same way we view 'flat world' people...just like 'they' viewed the millennia that preceded them

1000 years? Try right now. Most of Europe already views as religious zealots and approximately 18% of Americans already think the same thing.

Religion is dead or dying in most educated nations, we're one of the last holdouts. Places like Denmark I believe it's 75% of the population now identifies themselves as having no religion.

Why? Because if you remove yourself from the fear of dying and what happens next, the entire basis is absurd. If it had more evidence you would see it growing in educated places, not eroding.

Actually, both states have decriminalized cannabis possession laws.

hell I wasn't even being serious. I was just taking a shot at MS for FINALLY ratifying the 14th amendment last month.

...and you guys manufacture the number one killing agent on the planet...wtfe

I don't see how growing tobacco relates to being 140 years late to the 14th amentment, but sure.......I won't even start on what Mississippi leads the country in.

...ummmmm, you were slamming MS for some stupid archival oversight......ummmm, slamming back for the stupidity of your comment for being a leader in contributing to the number one killer in the world which you are obviously still okay with....at least you figured out the tobacco part w/o any help...start growing weed legally and stop producing a product that keeps da po' po'er and destroys more lives than alcohol and all illegal drugs combined. ...or you can do the Sunday forgiveness thing and ignore all the health problem that this product causes...last time I checked, we figured out our oversight....you guys just continue on like it's a non-issue...hypocrite

MS leads in having to deal with dumb*** comments like yours..
