There is no justifiable reason to add any football team out there that would substantially improve MWC's football position. But adding Gonzaga for basketball and a needed partner, perhaps BYU, would make MWC a very, very strong basketball league. My guess is BYU won't join MWC. But MWC should keep pushing for BYU and perhaps "sweeten the pot" similar to Boise State football.

THe WCC won't like it. If the big east jumped to 16, i could see one of byu or gonzaga work even with the travel. Of course, it would be more flying to the midwest than east + byu and gonzaga fly everywhere in the wcc so what's another hour or two on plane?

no. BE proved Hybrid conferences are not such a good idea. Just say no to BB only schools

Probably not gonna happen. The price of admission to the MWC is football. Thompson and the conference presidents have been adamant about that, at least publicly. And the MWC has already become a "very strong basketball league" without Gonzaga and BYU.
