The ACC has this territory surrounded, but no presence there. As this is particularly valuable territory, one approach would be to bring in a basketball only member such as Georgetown, which could solidify the ACC's presence in DC.
Navy/Georgetown?

VT & UVA cover DC pretty well, IMO.
If you want Philadelphia, we could always invite Temple someday...
I agree about UVA and VT in DC, but I think that he means recruiting, and Temple got kicked out o fthe BIG EAST. Do you really want them in the ACC?

Teams left that are in the ACC footprint that would join:
UConn
West Virginia
Cincinnati
I would add West Virginia and Cincinnati. This would create four team regional rivarlies:
Cincinnati
Louisville
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Boston College
Syracuse
Pitt
West Virginia
Duke
Wake Forest
North Carolina
North Carolina State
Clemson
Georgia Tech
FSU
Miami
For basketball:
Notre Dame
Marquette
Villanova
Georgetown

Offer Texas the same deal as Notre Dame. That'll end the Big XII forever. OK and KS will go to the SEC and the rest will go to MWC, AAC or CUSA.

If Texas A&M continues to dominate Texas in recruiting and on the field (because of there SEC affiliation), I wouldn't put it past Texas to get over their distain for SEC academics and sign up with them. Because really it's football that's important to Texas and they can't stand being second fiddle to A&M for long.

I honestly think that if we ever become convinced that ND will never join, we should offer ND deals to Texas and Penn State. That would destroy the Big XII, which would stabilize the ACC, and it would weaken the B1G while strengthening the ACC. Yes, the B1G would still be richer than the ACC, but the difference would be smaller than it otherwise would be.

I'm convinced they'll never join. There may have been a chance before this past season, but not after they made it to the championship game as an independent.

Well, keep in mind that the rules for making it to the championship game will change again - radically - after this season.

Exactly. Also, who knows what is going to happen in 12 years.
