ACC Network coming soon.
This is a thread on Syracusefan.com by someone reportably in the know.

http://syracusefan.com/threads/acc-netwo...ide.50975/

The most interesting thing in there is that the ACC/ND games go automatically to the new ACC network. So, 2 or 3 ND games a year will require you to have the ACC network to see them. That on top of the other ACC content (Which the basketball will be very compelling) should be enough to get us within 60% of the SEC network.

The need for at least 60% of the SEC is detailed in this BlogSpot by ACCFootballRx. Isn't that someone on here's blog.

Still want them to buy/merge with HE for more winter content and to keep up with BTN.

That would be cool. (get it - ice hockey, cool?)

The irony is beyond thick. ACCFootballRX is Hokie Marks blog (and is def worth reading - it's pretty good). The poster from SUfan (Arb) has been caught plagiarizing Hokie Mark before (hence the irony being beyond thick) and packaging it as his own "secret" and inside information.

The guy might be right, but his info is only as good as the guy who originally wrote it.

Perhaps buying national rights for a HE Friday night/Sunday afternoon package. This is not a bad idea. BC is going to have trouble delivering the Boston market for the ACCN. Adding HE content would definitely improve the ability to clear cable systems in New England. This is similar to the idea, suggested elsewhere, of the BTN buying a package of Big East basketball games to boost clearance in NYC and Philly.

I'm not sure you would need all the HE games. Maybe just bid on the BC and ND games.

ND just signed a contract last fall for NBC Sports to televise all home ND hockey games.

I guess that the ACC could bid on the contract to televise ND away games in the Hockey East.

I would be too. I'd think ND would object to it and we're not going to force any thing on them.

nd football could be on acc network but only replays no way nd goes for more than 1 acc network game.(that would only be if there was rule each team had to be on 1 time like b10 TO TRY TO GET MORE $$ FROM cable satellite co's)

Mark, I enjoy reading your blog. Great analysis of the potential ACCN.
