Grrrrrrrr!

He is delusional but ir's no more annoying than UTEP fans pimping a basketball recruiting class that hasn't touched the hardwood. Sounding alot like those North Texas fans last year 05-stirthepot

For selfish reasons I would want App St, but in reality they bring nothing new to the table. Georgia St. adds market but that's about all. Raiding SBC is sort of like the Vikings raiding England hundreds of years ago, after a while there is nothing worth going back to raid.

If we are going to add teams I would focus on StonyBrook, Army, UMASS & Buffalo. Market, market, market. As far as the SBC conference just let it survive, because even the dogs deserve crumbs from the table.

This should go over real well...

by page 2 its a pissing match & by page 3 its moved to the smack board.

Looks like it's ahead of schedule. Or at least to me, because I view 50 posts at a time.

Ok, which SBC team would be a great addition for CUSA? Which two teams in the SBC would be worth going to 16? And please explain.

Stay at 14, if we lose two stay at 12.

The only Belters left with any appeal are Arky State and ULL. Even they are borderline at best.

MTSU, UNT, WKU, FIU, FAU I would say.

The back to back champs, attendance leaders, and bowl winners I'd pass on those two though...they add nothing.

eh there is no history of sustained success by ULL or Ark State though, so I don't think there were really any home run SBC additions. You pick the schools with the best facilities in the best recruiting areas to benefit the league as a whole as much as possible.

MTSU, UNT, WKU, FIU,FAU are a part of the 14. They are the ones that separated themselves from the rest of SBC. My apologies to England & the Vikings that was very insensitive of me. They deserve better.

Well, I don't know that they necessarily separated themselves on the playing field (in football anyway) from the rest of the SBC, they just happened to be in the right markets and WKU strengthened basketball and olympic sports while offering a promising football team.

If Ark St and ULL don't get into CUSA this year, Texas State and South Alabama will pass them up as the favorites to be the next CUSA members. I think that CUSA will go with these two if new members are needed.

South Alabama will never be in CUSA unless USM gets called up into whatever the big east calls itself nowadays.

And UAB.

Of course given how BB loves to screw us over (we're the only two schools he didn't choose to join) he may so it just to spite us.

ODU just got here so my opinion doesn't mean much, but...I kinda like what we've got going right now here in CUSA. Why crowd it?

RE: SBC Teams have nothing tNew to offer CUSA
I don't know why people who root for teams in the Gang of 5 conferences consider teams based on any criteria but- which school not in our conference has the best football program?

All other factors are moot. TV market? who cares, these schools are so low on the food chain they aren't going to make a dent. Every time I see the MAC mentioned in a realignment discussion the two teams most often mentioned are UMass and Buffalo. Its insane. Just because they are in bigger markets doesn't mean they can make a dent in it. They are terrible teams, if you took them from the MAC the MAC would significantly improve.

Make a list of the best non-AQ football teams not in your conference and start at the top, that's what I would do. Ark State would have to be at the top of SBC followed by ULL or ULM, right?

I'd say Troy is better than ULM, the last couple years notwithstanding.

You could have stopped with stay at 12 and it would have been a hof post. There is not one single positive about adding either. we are at the point of holding with what we have no matter how many more we lose.

I'm good at 14. And I know we are one of the lucky ones. I don't have to have 16 teams. I don't have to have Stonybrook, UMASS, Army or Buffalo, but I sure don't want a ULL or a ULM ar an Ark St.
Once you have been in a conference with a Louisville or Cincy or Marquette or DePaul or UAB or USM or Saint Louis or Marshall or ODU or VCU you sort of feel privileged. Favor ain't fair, it's just favor.

I want to SBC to survive and the teams in it to stay there.

CUSA is now the Sunbelt 2 Conference. I feel sorry for Rice,Southern Miss and UTEP. They should all be in the new Big East or AAC. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette U La La is pimping on this board to be admitted to the Sunbelt 2. They do not post on the Sunbelt board anymore and they are considered traders by other Sunbelt members in my humble opinion.

didn't you guys just lose a football coach that had a national name? Could that not have been the reason you had good football attendance and recent success? You've made 2 good hires following 4-8 seasons. It is not like you have continued success (not that any other addition has either) How is Ark state's market?
