Probably required by TV to even consider a dedicated ACC Network.

It's only a true game changer if it includes all three tiers (which is probably does). Otherwise i's just as flimsy as the Big XII's, which is so easy to break a first year law school student could get them out of it.

Appears to be. Probably does not take into account ND's NBC programming deal.

A GoR, particularly when it comes to ND football, has a dual affect.
1) It protects the schools who are receiving a bump in their rights fee from ND being part of the scheduling agreement
2) It protects ND who is depending on the ACC as it stands on 7/1/14 to fill out 5/12ths of their football schedule

SHOULD be an announcement today, one of the final paths to getting our network. Not guaranteed yet but I knew once this came to fruition ESPN is starting to come around.

RE: GOR SIGNED BY ALL 15 SCHOOLS
If true, then I am very happy today as an ND fan:

Notre Dame got everything it wanted out of conference realignment, then.

It gets access to the playoffs and to the Orange Bowl as an independent, seven football games a year under its control, the NBC deal and the ACC deal with the existing fourteen teams staying intact for at least ten years and its other sports televised via an ACC network.

The ACC stays together and conference realignment was kicked in its ass.

Not bad, Jack Swarbrick and John Swofford. I am looking forward to ND's partnership with the current ACC for a very long time.

I don't know how quickly that they can get the announcement only because some places are reporting that each school needs to have its legal dept. review any wording, etc.

It is possible that they've agreed to do this, but not yet come up with the legal paperwork. Could announce that they've agreed "in principle" to a grant of rights.

LOL. Here's the Dude's first response:

The Dude of WV ‏@theDudeofWV - If the Big 10 wants FSU it had better act in 3, 2, 1...

Anybody else and I'd have assumed this was tongue-in-cheek. But since he's the source of all these rumors, you know he really thinks the Big 12's gonna grab FSU before the GOR takes effect.

Looks like news of the ACC GOR has hit Morgantown and they're not happy. Or maybe they are happy. Either way, the reaction's the same:

So now we have a 50 million exit fee AND a GOR. I think it's safe to say the ACC is SOLID.

BJ, I think this could actually help Cincy in the long run. I would say this makes you more attractive to the Big 12 and maybe even the SEC if you can get that stadium expanded.

In some ways, I think it stabilizes their conference too if it hinders the ability for the Pac-12, Big 12 and ACC to be raided. Big 12 seems happy at 10.
