RE: ACC grant of rights
I think it gives this league a chance at a better TV deal because realignment options are now very limited.

Time for Cincinnati and UConn to hit the panic button...very bad news indeed. :(

The joke's on West Virginia. Stuck on an island for the next 15+ years in the Big 12.

From The Sporting News. ACC's GoR not good news for UConn, Cincinnati, Memphis, or South Florida >>>

RE: ACC grant of rights
We have a good 12 team conference. Our biggest problem was instability. If this cements our 12 team membership, it's VERY good for us. Now the AAC can (re-)cement ourselves as the #6 conference (just like the oBE obviously was...), and get a much better deal in 6 years.

Oh yeah. Read that they are not really enjoying getting back to Morgantown at 4AM from away games. Not only on an island, but few direct flights between them and their destinations. And some bus travel to boot. Not too fun...

As a Texan that knows all about UTSA, I want nothing to do with a glorified juco that exists solely to give UT rejects a last ditch effort to backdoor their way into a real school.

People said the same thing about USF and UCF... Times change my friend. Metro populations in the south are growing. When you have 30K, 40K students (or more), you are legit. The only thing holding these schools back is a bit of history and experience. But as Marty McFly said... history is gonna change.

Not good news for UConn or South Florida or any other school on the east coast. I doubt it affects the future of Cincinnati or Boise or Memphis or Houston much IF the Big 12 wants to expand. Actually it limits those Big 12 expansion candidates even more.

They can STFU about UMass, too. No need.

Agreed, STFU about the whole damn lot of em. Now that we have a clearer idea of who and what our conference is, the jerking off about your wish lists doesn't mean diddly squat.

Does nothing for us now, but once the current deal expires we should see a nice jump. Especially if we make good use of the next 5 years. Win and AAC will get paid.

03-lmfao too cute. USF & UCF are a little bit different in the fact that they're Tier 1 schools which are more palatable to presidents. UTSA and GSU are the very definition of a last ditch commuter school.

And for the love of God can we PLEASE stop talking about metros / markets as if they're some kind of great thing. Our TV contract proves they don't mean 01-rivals.

Actually I think this allows the Big 12 to sit tight if they choose. But if they decide to go to 14 teams than, yes, I think Memphis has a chance. 12 only - no.

RE: ACC grant of rights
This hopefully gives the AAC a chance to brand itself and grow, with some fabulous BB schools and up and coming FB programs.

Yes, Cincy and Uconn fans should be upset, but now we can put the focus on the field - where it should have been all along!

Maybe, I just don't see it with Texas still in the B12. In fact, I don't realistically see anyone outside BYU getting into a B12 with Texas.
