Are you saying the swearing was due to nerves or are you saying his intro was based on nerves? I think the reason his intro sucked so bad is because he just realized that he dropped a "homophobic slur" and the F bomb on live TV. He knew he was a dead man walking. That's my take on why he was so nervous during the broadcast.

I say he was swearing based on nerves. He totally botched the intro which led to him swearing. And then he barely knew his name or his background. Or he could've been higher than sh*t.

A.J. - Thanks, Van, I'm very excited. I graduated from West Virginia University and I'm used to, um, you know, from being from the in from the East Coast.

Two observations:

1. I was hoping for something a bit juicier as far as personal information goes. You know, something a bit more specific than which half of the country he was accustomed to.
2. A.J. should've taken a class at WVU on the proper use of prepositions.

I'm sure he did take one, but you have to remember it's West Virginia were talking about here.

That whole thing was just awkward. But he did say that he was trying to pronounce the London Marathon winner's name - Tsegaye Kebede.

TMZ had a longer vid as he goes into his first segment. He recovered pretty good. I just think it was first time nerves.

I heard he just signed on as offical spokesman for the Tourettes Foundation.
