ACC Network Content?
Things I think we will see on the coming ACC Network.

1. ACC Basketball Games mostly non-conference home games but including several conference games as well
2. ACC Football Games mostly non-conference home games against the sisters of the poor but including several conference games as well like Duke-BC
3. Loads of ACC Baseball, Tennis, Soccer, & Lacrosse
4. Lots of ACC Women's Basketball
5. ACC Golf Tournament
6. Coach's shows
7. An ACC News Show
8. Saturday Morning Football Show
9. Signing Day Specials
10. Lots of Game Replays
11. ACC Classic Games from the "Vault"
12. Interviews with past ACC greats

Things I would like to see on the ACC Network.

1. 30 for 30 Style Documentaries about the ACC and its history (Miami and NC State have great ones already). I would like to see topics about the founding of the ACC, the '95 WF basketball team and the WF 1955 Baseball National Championship team for example.
2. A Show about things to see and do when visiting ACC cities
3. Documentaries about the history of each school ( how they were founded, notable events)
4. A show that highlights notable research being conducted at ACC schools and cool education opportunities they offer (for example WF owns the old US embassy in Venice for our study aboard program in addition to other other houses around the world)

RE: ACC Network Content?
I'd like to see some biographies - coaches, players and others - past and present. Case...McGuire...K (nearly fired after 3rd year!).

I'd like to see the older games condensed to a reasonable length. Cut the basketball to 30 minutes, football to an hour.

On Sunday's, during football season, have a half hour block with game highlights of the previous week. Something like that may be better served on the ACCDN.

A special each week during football season highlighting each of the 14 universities, its campus, its traditions, its history, and of course its athletic program. Then during basketball season another special for all 15 universities.

RE: ACC Network Content?
I like the idea of programming that lets ACC fans learn about member institutions.

I doubt many here know that UofL Hospital had the first ambulance service and the first emergency room in the country. Or UofL Hospital performed the first hand transplants, implanted the first self-contained artificial heart. UofL researchers developed the first cancer vaccine and pap smear test.

There is much more to a university than some bias listing of its so-called "academic rating." There needs to be some avenue to get the truth out. An ACC Network will be the perfect way.

Idk if this is what you're talking about but "...the first artificial heart to be successfully implanted in a human was the Jarvik-7, designed by Robert Jarvik and implemented in 1982. The first two patients to receive these hearts, Barney Clark and William Schroeder, survived 112 and 620 days beyond their surgeries, respectively."

If so, Robert Jarvik was a Syracuse grad, which would mean that we had each other's back before joint BIG EAST/ACC days. 04-cheers

RE: ACC Network Content?
IMO they could never put too many classic ACC football and basketball games on it... I could spend hours watching things like
Jimmy Johnson's Hurricanes vs. Bobby Bowden's Seminoles
Dean Smith's Tar Heels vs. Mike Krzyzewski's Blue Devils
Danny Ford's Tigers vs. Bobby Ross's Terrapins (and later, Yellow Jackets)
etc., etc.

Maybe toss in some classic Va Tech vs. Syracuse football.

Yeah, there were some great BE football games between VT/Cuse/Miami that I'd love to see on ACC TV. VT with Michael Vick almost the same time Miami went to back to back National Championship games. Cuse with McNabb, Freeney, and Harrison that went to BCS games. ETC. Just please leave out the last 4 VT/Pitt games.

15 1/2 hour Coaches shows would take up a nice block of programming on the Sunday after football games. And then Basketball Coaches shows from November till April.

I'd like to see ACC Hockey on it at some point. Just costs too much money and is a Title IX concern.

RE: ACC Network Content?
Does someone broadcast all of Boston College's home game ice hockey games? That could provide a small amount of additional content if their home non-conference games are available.

I know Notre Dame's home ice hockey games were included in their NBC deal.

Hockey East signed its own separate deal with NBC Sports.

ND then signed its own deal (carved out of Hockey East) when it joined Hockey East.

Georgia Tech already has TV broadcast coach's shows on SportsSouth/CSS. Not sure who owns those rights after the GOR.

Post game news conferences from both coaches of an ACC game in all sports that have them! Some post game interviews with the players. If we could get the post games from the tier 1&2 content that would be nice as well!

Presumably GT sold the rights to CSS. I think that the GoR just gave the ACC the rights to continue owning the content that they already own, even if GT bolts.

With 14-3/4 teams, 25 sports and 60 years of history, I think there is plenty of content available. I just hope they focus on quality. An unmanned camera looking through a chain link fence with people walking in front of it is not ACCeptable.
