Well now that they're building the 21-story apartment between my bldg and the stadium, I'm not sure how much of a view I'll have. Doesn't really matter as I'm a baseball fan and will probably be in the stadium most nights.

More frustrating (when you think it would be awesome) is living right next to BofA Stadium. When the Panthers play, I pretty much have to go to the game. The delay from live action on NFL games is almost 10 seconds. It really does suck to be watching a game on TV and hear the crowd roar or moan before teams have even come to the LOS... #firstworldproblems

No worries, I was thinking like more bars like Picassos and Hooligans. Local places with sports bar atmospheres.

Sweet! What's the living like over there? I know Fourth Ward has tons of Victorian-style houses and more typical apartment buildings in terms of number of floors.

It's fine. Pretty much all residential. I actually own a townhome on the other side of 277 from First Ward, so technically I'm in Belmont, but I'm literally a few hundred feet from First Ward.

I like the location though because I'm a 15 minute walk to Trade/Tryon, Plaza-Midwood, Elizabeth, and Midtown. I lived in Third Ward in the past off of Cedar. I like the new spot a little more although I do miss the atmosphere on gamedays.

Wish this was there when I went to college and lived there. Nothing like going to Greens before a football game too or just on a random Saturday.

Who did you say would be playing there? That's a very nice stadium.

It's our AAA baseball team, the Charlotte Knights. They are affiliated with the Chicago Whitesox.

And, in an eerie coincidence that means absolutely nothing to anyone but me, the Birmingham Barons (I'm originally from Birmingham, of course) just moved into a new downtown home and they are the AA affiliate of the White Sox.

Here's a rendering of the view from home plate:

Also, this is something I put together for my family & friends to give some context on where everything is being built. The 'A' is my apt bldg, "Carolinas Stadium" is obviously "Bank of America Stadium" (I have no idea how long ago I grabbed this map), and the "New Park" is "Romare Bearden Park" and will stop at 3rd St. (it won't cover the blocks between 3rd & 4th as depicted):

Charlotte has been catching my eye lately, been thinking about a change of pace from Dallas. Beautiful park.

Here is an even more extensive and interactive map of developments in Charlotte

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=2012...11,0.04416

Blue spots are residential, red is proposed, green are parks, yellow is industrial stuff. Click on the spots and it will give details about the project.
