Yeah, saw Star Trek a couple of weeks ago and Man of Steel earlier this week. Trek was very good and Man of Steel was Epic!

Yes, funny but filthy. Definitely NOT for kids.

I might go see World War Z today. I read the book and liked it a lot. However, it appears the zombies in the movie trailers are fast. In the book they're the slow, lumbering kind.

Seems like movies these days are nothing but bad remakes, overly vulgar attempts at humor, and post-apocalyptic scenarios. They need more ideas.

This is the end was amazing. I hated Ironman 3. I liked Into the Darkness a lot. I thought Superman was alright. Gastby was pretty good.

i liked into darkness while i was watching it, but the more i talked to others about it, the less and less i do now - just too many problems created by the story. superman was great i thought although about 15 minutes too long - just like iron man 3. my wife drug me to wwz and it was decidedly meh although the last 3rd of the movie (in the hospital) saved it from being a total train wreck.

I saw Monsters U. over the weekend and was extremely disappointed. I have loved almost all the Pixar movies, but this is the first one I have left and immediately knew it was a bad movie, by Pixar standards.

I admit part of the problem was that Monsters Inc is in my top 3 favorite Pixar movie, and I loved how original the concept was. This movie did not have any originality. The plot was extremely formulaic. I won't give anything away, but you have seen this plot a million times before. The focus was more on Mike than on Mike and Sully. Even my kids, who like everything was kind of disappointed.

It has some nice parts and some funny parts, but and would be alright if it didn't have the Pixar label. Just too predictable and I felt I had seen it many times before.

I blame Disney.

And you should.

They were responsible for the abomination that is Cars 2 as well. They are going to pump out needless sequels to the Pixar films so that they can sell toys and merchandise.

This is even more exemplified with "Planes", a Disney made (non-Pixar) Cars spinoff that was made as a Direct-to-DVD movie but was converted to a theater release with 2 sequels already planned...before the first piece of crap even comes out.

And more sequels are coming:

They've played nice so far with Marvel, but I don't have high hopes for Star Wars.

This is the End was probably one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.
The Internship was great.
Fast 6 was great.
World War Z was really good.

I'm not going to spoil it for those who want to see the movie, but Pacific Rim sure did borrow a lot from the movie "Independence Day".

Nevertheless, its worth seeing.
