Houston wants out of AAC by 2015???
A couple of talking heads from Orlando, talking about UH talking to the Big XII...

http://www.sportstalkflorida.com/db-onli...-to-big-12

Just chatter, not only about re-alignment, but also conference dynamics.

This has already been discussed on the realignment board. Means nothing. Everyone is trying to get into Big 12. Until the B12 shows an indication they are willing to expand, it's worthless information.

Yup. The headline could just as easily been UConn wants to be in ACC by 2015. Or Cinci wants to be on Big12 by 2015. Everyone wants out--and as soon as anyone actually has a better place to go--they will be gone in a flash. Unfortunately, it looks like there may be no invites going out for a while. Time to get comfortable...for now.

Oh, I don't think the interesting stuff was the "Houston's talking to the Big XII..." Heck, I'd be amazed and disappointed if UH WASN'T talking to the Big XII.

I think it was more interesting when they got discussing the conference dynamics and the reality that "nobody is happy" with this conference.

I think Whit Babcock (UC AD) is happy with this conference, his public comments seem to indicate that he is.

The Big 12 sought a title game exemption for 10 teams, and was denied recently. The ACC signed a GOR recently, limiting the Big 12 expansion pool to schools from the American, MWC and BYU.

Naturally, there is going to be talk about schools like Houston, Cincy, USF, UCF and SMU as potential Big 12 candidates.

There's a few factors at play here. The CFB playoff, the GORs, and good old fashioned Texas politics. If the smoke coming from Austin is to be taken seriously, then you can bet that Cincinnati and Houston will be on their way out Summer of 2014.

Are you high? No way that's happening. You may be able to pull Charlize, but Houston is not getting into the Big XII. Don't blame them for trying though.

I will say that everyone is doing all they can to get into the B12 now. Hell, ECU has had Chuck Neinas on staff for over a year now for this and has had Luck from WVU lobbying.

Well, I expect that Houston, SMU, UCF, USF, Cincy, Uconn, Memphis, Temple,Tulsa, 03-drunk ECU, La Tech, Boise, all would like to be in the B12 by 2015.

Good for Houston. The job of every AD and Chancellor in the country not in a P5 league is to try and position their school to get into a P5 league if there is even a chance. I think UH certainly has a punchers chance of getting into the Big12 if they expand to 12 teams and certainly if they expand to 14 teams. Not sure why some folks are so quick to pile on a school for looking at a potential P5 slot when their are literally tens of millions of dollars involved and a far superior Athletic competition situation.

Well, clearly all the best kids on the playground have been picked already in the expansion wars so if the Big12 wants to expand then they are going to have to plug their nose somewhat and take a program they feel is beneath them but has potential and justifies going past 10. I am guessing whoever might get picked will not care one bit about the Big12 plugging their nose as that team will benefit from one of the very few country club memberships available
