The second one is based on the Indiana flag (though with different colors)

FWIW, I actually like the first one. I don't know what it has to do with Indiana, but I like it.

Doesn't Rutgers want to be the only metallic and red team out there?

I understand why Indiana is doing this at this moment in time but none the less...they didn't do so well in their decision making, in my opinion.

Ugly as sin....

I hate all of these special uniforms/helmets. I boycott Nike any year they do their tribute uniform for the Ohio State on the Michigan game (I'll grudgingly accept any other game; but that one no).

Get ready to be disappointed because Maryland doesn't wear the same uniform twice.

Oddly enough it looks like I'm with the majority on this one ... the second one's OK, the first one's just ... no.

Indiana's colors are Crimson and Cream, not Scarlet and Chrome.

FWIW, the first helmet is crimson not scarlet.

Somebody could claim its crimson, the second helmet looks a lot more like crimson to me.

Is Indiana trying to make Maryland feel welcome? I know the kids love the alternate styles, but those ultra ugly Maryland helmets and the IU stripes concept are horrible.

Fireman ... understand your view ... BUT ... you have to be from MARYLAND lol ... these are the absolutely coolest helmets and uniforms ... wait'll you see the endzones with the MD flag logos in them ... very very proud to be a Marylander!!! ... of course winning a few games will help ease the brightness too

The new field looks great but we should simplify our uniforms a bit:

RE: New Indiana Helmets
In regards to the Rutgers usage of "Teh Shineh", I actually like it. The helmet is the modern day equivalent of a Medieval Knight's Helm. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights makes it very fitting with that all metallic looking helmet with the blood red R on it. The Hoosiers though just doesn't seem like a shiny look is fitting and doing it up with the stripes is just horrid. I know old school hoosier's look is with stripes....but not with the shiny. The other helmet is proper colors but what the hell? I can't even see the whole thing to know what the picture is but it looks like an utter mess. Major fail on both helmets.

In regards to Maryland, the uniforms hurt my eyes but I do recognize that the State flag/colors look that way so in that regard I think it was a smart move. Who cares what anyone else thinks anyways.
