Group skype calls? Group chats?

If we were to, as a group somehow, access a live video feed and have an internet gathering and chat in real time...

It's an interesting thought.

Discuss.

This board has a chat function and yet we still do game day threads instead of that. That should answer your question

Yes but the chat would be cluttered with every ongoing game at a given time right? I think a game specific one would be better. I used to watch some hockey games on justin.tv which had a chat function for videos and it was a lot of fun. Something like that would be cool though I'm not sure how to set it up.

I do have an xat chat room still available to me for this but it seems game day threads have worked better here than chat rooms.

I like this site best for content and discussion (with some obvious nonsense exceptions...), but this site seems to be a post, check back for replies, repeat, repeat, etc. ESPN now has some sort of live updating, so it's pretty fun on gameday to chat... Leave it up and it's all real-time. I'm not a tech guy, but I don't know about any chat on this site. Anything you're describing sounds great. I'd much prefer chatting on gameday here...

Maybe we can get with GA TECH SWAGGER and have smaller but multiple chat rooms? We have a brand new kickin server that needs to be tested, that would certainly do it.

And for those that like the slower style, we can have a chat log, kind of like AA's Big East Chat's from ESPN.

I should be able to change the name and add some school mods, if anyone wants to try it a little let me know.

I'd probably want to have 2x from each school that are online a lot and have a high post count to make them mods who have the power to add people.

Yea. That was a succinct and accurate answer.

I can create any arbitrary # of channels in our chat here. You just need to ask me for a channel for team x or conference y.

A man after my own heart. Good luck explaining to many of the locals how that works though. I bet more than half the people who read that either had to look it up or didn't know what it was.
