Forgive me for not being impressed with that 3 point win over 7-6 Rice or those other stud teams you played. I'd put 11-2 South Carolina up against anyone on your schedule. You are dogging us and we happen to be one of the winning teams, which is the entire difference. Ironic.

Our SOS was ranked higher on just about every computer poll I looked at, just like our team. The only one it wasn't was Sagarin and it was with in a few spots and a marginal difference. So would you rather have had 8 wins vs the 112th SOS or 5 vs the 106th like you guys on there? Your schedule was just as bad.

You beat UAB by 7 f'ing points. Just shut the hell up and quit taking cheap shots at my team. It has no place in your argument. Saying you lost to a 3 win UAB team will get your point across.
7 is an interesting number. We also haven't lost to you in 7 years.

UAB fan. Our team won all the games we should have last year. 7-1 in CUSA. Marshall didn't 5-7(4-4). If they want to pick at our record a loss to a 3 win UAB team is certainly going to get pointed out.

Let's take it a step further SJ. In the last two years ECU is 0-10 against FBS teams with a winning record. So the key to beating ECU is pretty obvious, just be good enough to win 6 games and you're good enough to beat ECU.
With your OOC schedule I'm starting to think you guys won't be bowl eligible this year. I didn't realize where all your wins were coming from.

So now you want to go back 2 years? He'll lets go back three then which is the entire Ruff tenure and included Dominic Davis and most of the players on the team 2 years ago not that I think even 2 years ago really matters to the coming season. That team beat TWO teams that finished in the top 25 that season under Ruff. So how many teams has Marshall beat that finished top 25 in the last decade? How many has Doc beat at Marshall? This should be fun.
8-5 (7-1)
5-7 (4-4)
We both return everyone, those numbers are all that all you really need to know. We haven't got a worse team than Marshall and if you are wanting to dig back we have certainly out classed you guys for a long time and have a program that looks like a legit mid level BCS one in the stands.

And that's fine. Don't put **** and UAB in the same sentence, *****. I understand that ECU is the greatest football team in the history of football ever, but not everybody can be ECU. I am proud of my school and what they are working towards. I'm am tired of you being a dick in every thread and continuously putting down seemingly every school that will be in C-USA when you're gone.

I hate to place UTSA dead last because I think they are a well coached program with a bright future, but I just don't think they will have the depth to compete every week in their first year playing a real FBS schedule.

RE: Your CUSA 2013 Power Rankings
Predicting C-USA... ...hahaha. I've learned that you cannot count on any team in this conference to take care of business. The only team that is at least semi-reliable is Tulsa.
East:
1) ECU
2) MTSU
3) Marshall
4) Southern Miss
5) FAU
6) UAB
7) FIU
UAB, FIU, and FAU are interchangeable. Southern Miss finally has a coach again. Marshall will be an average C-USA team this season - and will go bowling provided they don't soil the bed in non-conference play. MTSU is MUCH better than anyone gives them credit for - and will push ECU for the division title all season long.
West:
1) Tulsa
2) Rice
3) UTEP
4) Tulane
5) North Texas
6) Louisiana Tech
7) UTSA
Virtually nothing stands between 3rd and 6th. Louisiana Tech must rebuild. North Texas will have some rough sledding thanks early on and will play better in the 2nd half of the season. Tulane has FINALLY done at least an average job recruiting in these past two summers and won't be out-gunned as they were from 2005-2012. Tulsa and Rice should both coast to bowls.
Overall:
1) Tulsa
2) ECU
3) MTSU
4) Rice
5) Marshall
6) UTEP
7) Southern Miss
8) Tulane
9) North Texas
10) Louisiana Tech
11) FAU
12) UAB
13) FIU
14) UTSA

I've bought Steele's mag every year since 2002. He is consistently wrong about our team. Last year he predicted us 3rd in the East behind 0-12 USM and we were tied for 1st just to give you an example. He never picked our championship teams either. Every year we seem to exceed his expectations so I doubt this is any different. He will use about 50 pages of his mag to tell you how accurate he is but he gets a lot of $hit wrong too.

I agree. He projected ODU to average 113 yards less passing per game in 2013 than 2012 despite the fact that we will likely be playing from behind far more often.
He also projects ODU to go from averaging 45 points a game to 35 which is a huge dropoff.

As much as I respect Marshall and their program I can't buy them winning the east. They're going to have to prove to me they can play some form of defense. You don't win championships with an Idaho-esque defense circa 2000-01 that allows 40+ per game and big play after big play. Further, with a new coordinator there is always an acclimation period and results are rarely immediate. It takes time to fix problems and bad habits.
Even if they improve their defense statistically by a significant 20% that still translates into allowing 32 points per game which would only put them in the mid to lower half of C-USA historically in defense. That may translate into one or two more wins but not championship caliber. Defense wins championships, and Marshall has a lot of work to do there IMO. That said I know there is a little bit of skewing as a result of overtime games, but in my mind aside from Southern Miss, Marshall has one of the most questionable units on the defensive side of the ball as anyone in the league.

Oh, please, what players? 34 lettermen gone after the 2009 season, 9 of 11 starters on defense, our best two returning players on the front 7 on D were walk ons.
