Where does all the land in the middle of the country go in the next round of realignment? Does a new grand canyon form along TX/NM, CO/KS, the Dakotas/Montana etc?

This map makes wonder how the PAC 12 will expand when considering its academic standards.... Moreover, WV should be either in the ACC or SEC.

Too bad Texas Tech fell into the hole. They would have been a good choice for the Pac expansion.

Not to point out the obvious but...check out the pop density compared to colleges.

There's obviously a need for some FBS schools in Puerto Rico.

And I guess Alaska was swapped for Puerto Rico as the new 50th state?

12.

And man, Texas Tech looks lonely out there.
No wonder TT has very good attendance: Where else can people there go for entertainment?
There's the Buddy Holly Center (Buddy grew up in Lubbock), Joyland Amusement Park, Cactus Theater, Science Spectrum-Omni Theater, or several other options to occupy your time. You should travel once in a while. There's lots of stuff to do, if you open your eyes and look around...

Lubbock is called the "Hub City" and the metro area has 297K residents. IIRC, Lubbock is the 3rd largest city in the Big 12. Tech fans come from across the state on game days to help fill up Jones Stadium on Saturdays in the fall. Lubbock isn't for everyone but I am proud of my time there and hope to live there again someday.

Texas Tech has a large and fiercely loyal fan base in Texas. 60% of Tech fans in Jones Stadium traveled to Lubbock from DFW, Houston, Austin, and other parts of Texas. Game weekends in Lubbock rock because everything in the city revolves around Texas Tech. Growing up in Dallas, I admit it took me a year to "get" Lubbock. But once I saw the light, I fell in love with that place. There is a sense of freedom there that I've never experienced any place else. It's almost a mystical experience.

Pushed deep into the earth, the unfortunate people of Lubbock become Morlocks.

Baylor is far more "religious" than SMU. Baylor is Baptist ... a friend of mine was a Baylor student in the 1980's and they couldn't even have a dance. SMU was established by the Methodist church, but the Church does not run SMU. I think that is the same situation at Syracuse.

syracuse is required to have 3 methodist on its BOT (out of 75) and thats where their relationship with the church ends. like duke, miami & NW they are non-nonsectarian

SMU is non-sectarian as well. The (Southern) Methodists were kind enough to found the university in 1911. But since then, they have been "hands-off".
