Why is this silly? They are located in some of the most fertile recruiting territory in the country. There will be talent available for them...But I see that you have everything figured out and anyone who does not agree with you is silly.

No. Just you are. You jumped to a huge conclusion with absolutely no evidence on which to base your opinion.

What conclusion did I jump to here and what opinion did I state...

You stated that UCF would probably win CUSA this year. That's nonsense. That's a BIG jump. I guarantee you there are at least 5 or 6 teams in CUSA THIS YEAR that could/would beat the UCF team that I saw play last night. I saw a UCF team last night that is slower than half the high school teams in Texas.

lol.

Give us one good reason why we should speed up for you, or play any more of our play book, when it quite obviously worked to perfection 2 weeks in a row. Also, name these 5-6 teams. Oh and don't include Marshall, they've proven they couldn't 8 years running.

That's just a SAD commentary on CUSA right there. By the way, I totally disagree.

Why do you say that? They have good players in the trenches, good running backs, and a good QB. What makes you think they are not a good team and why would them being one of the better team in CUSA be SAD..They were fairly consistent at being one of the better teams in the league during their tenure in CUSA and played for the CUSA Championship last season with a good portion of that team back this year.

Too slow. That game last night was played in slow motion, on BOTH sides of the ball. I've never been so bored watching a game in my life. I know for a fact that LA Tech could donkey stomp 'em, and I highly suspect that Rice, Tulsa, UTSA, ECU and Marshall could as well.

There was a serious lack of speed in last nights game.

03-lmfao So your actual answer is too slow??? That is what you are going with??? Whatever, you could tell on TV that UCF was too slow so they suck??? What about their on the field performance last year and what they have done so far this season. They play a ball control running offense, while not flashy they have been pretty successful with it over the years. I would be willing to put a lot of money on them against pretty much anyone in CUSA at this point.

UCF is too slow. That's why they've only outscored two D-1a opponents 76-7 through two games. Too slow.

get off the sauce son! UCF went to championship game last year, sorry but UCF was not playing Lamar. (where is lamar anyhow) So UCF played two Div 1a teams and gave up less points than LessTech gave up to Lamar.

I think LessTech needs to revoke your diploma.

You went from one post to the other...Two different topics buddy. Anyway, how was that game with Lamar???? LAMAR???? Freaking Lamar....Don't talk anymore about good or bad teams. La Tech freaking sucks this year...You got pounded by an NC State that had to pull out a miracle to beat Richmond at home and Lamar had your team on the ropes...Enough said.

RE: UCF @ FIU Game Thread
UCF was big, fast and well coached and FIU has played two strong programs, who appear to be on the assension, to start the year.

That said, we will struggle to score and the attendance won't get much better.

Turner was given a project when he was hired, then nearly every single one of his skilled position players who were expected to have big years are acadimically ineligible or have been dismissed from the team.

Hopefully an FCS opponent this week will give a chance to right the ship and at least play competitive football the remainder of the season.

This is pathetic.

If you have ever watched Marshall, Rakeem Cato was a FIU commit. Until Tommy Shuler (Who Cato has known since 4 and played together since they were 7) ask Cato to come visit him in Huntington. Shuler was already on the Marshall campus and enrolled in classes. Cato visited and fell in love with Marshall and the city of Huntington. He has stated that he knew he would change his commitment before he even met Coach Holliday.

Cato isn't the only recruit Marshall has taken away from FIU.

FIU Stadium isn't really that great either. It looks like a soccer stadium more than a football stadium. Once you get past Florida, Florida State, Miami and to some degree UCF and aren't recruited, a lot of kids would rather go out of state and play. Instead of going to the F_Us or IAA/DII schools.

Marshall has 34 Florida players on our roster.

WKU has 28 players on roster from Florida and two seasons ago had the most Floridian roster non Florida school second only to Western Michigan..Was surprised that Western Mich had so many, most have connections for any Floridan in their right mind to play in Michigan...

RE: UCF @ FIU Game Thread
Few points towards FIUs attendance:

- Single game tickets weren't available for this game. As a UCF fan, I was pissed to see I'd have to buy 42 dollar season tickets to go...(until I snagged some for 15 on stubhub)...but after seeing the result in person, FIU has GOT to stop pulling that pricing scheme. Especially once the game was moved to Friday. At the end of it all, I would have paid 42. Casual locals wouldn't because a) we're just UCF and b) next weeks game is $7

- I read up on your tailgating policies and saw that the lots would be cleared 45 minutes before kickoff. That never happened. While I think the photo posted in this thread was before kickoff based on what I remember, we tailgated almost until the kick and no one cleared us out. It's a good policy - do it!

- otherwise, fun time all around. Friendly fans. Good band and dancers and just a nice environment that was missing fans. I think this is part of what happens when teams are starting to go from inception to FBS overnight. You can't buy tradition or fanbase growth. Trust me, UCF has tried every gimmick in the books. Some work temporarily but in the end it just takes time.

The reason WMU had so many FL player was same reason WKU did. The HC had good connections in FL HS. Bill Cubit had a nice pipeline at North Miami Beach and few other schools, in fact the NMB HS coach would not let other schools recruit at that school. In 2009 UCF had to recruit the recruit outside school to get K. Ishmael. HS coach thought he was committed to WMU (since he didn't let any schools recruit his players) , but he was really committed to UCF bc parent liked UCF better.

RE: UCF @ FIU Game Thread
Never heard of UCF being slow. Our offense runs at a slow pace to eat clock but far from slow players. Let me know when you play 2 d-1 teams and give up only 7 points.

FIU shouldn't have forced the season tickets. It worked the last time with UCF nearing the top 25 and FIU with a win over UL the week before but that isn't going to work each time.

FIU will get better though. Too much talent in Miami!
