I think we may have prematurely judged Tech fans. Aside from Tech's administration screwing us out of a bowl in 2001, I believe we might have gotten caught up in their anti-Sun Belt, anti-Louisiana, and anti-ULM rhetoric.

We weren't exactly the model of Sun Belt stewards ourselves in the end. Tech fans have been much different than I remember since we joined C-USA. And maybe they were right after all so I'm all for letting the past live there.

I always thought Tech was right regarding ULM, if TSU moved to FBS and had ULM's issues and limitations and shoestring budget and tried to insist that we were rivals, I'm not so sure we wouldn't treat them the same way.

Unfortunately, Tulane will probably take a similar attitude with Rice and Southern Miss, even though there is a very significant faction (among alumni and donors) who want to keep those series alive. The goal should be to play one of them each season, alternating them every-other-year.
