Discussion Etiquette
Whether we like it or not, everyone who has "I root for-ODU" on their profile is a direct representation of Old Dominion and the other ODU posters to the rest of this board. Considering that, I have the following list to share with you. One of my co-workers, a Vietnam-era Marine combat correspondent, posted it on Facebook:
"Basic Rules of Engagement for Public Discussion on Behalf or Your Organization"
1) Be polite
2) Don't tell people they are wrong*
3) Be timely
4) Be accurate
5) Avoid the use of absolutes unless they are accurate**
6) Be attributable
7) Do not succumb to the urge to call someone names
*Share your viewpoint. If it's strong enough, they'll know they're wrong
**Before you fail at (5), get some sleep
