To me, that's part of the fun of a start-up. You watch them take their lumps and get better over time. Can't wait to see what these boys do under the lights!

Charlotte will be amped up, that will help. One thing about JMU is they play down to their opponents. Both teams coming off lackluster performances, so who shakes the rust off first might have the edge. Go 49'ers, this could be your statement games.

I expect Matthews will run the ball 80% of the time. Our new fangled passing O sucked last week, and Mickey said we would have won by 40+ if we hadn't tried to pass. I think that was foreshadowing for the rest of the year....lord knows it's been that way for 14 years now.

Interesting, too, is that these two coaches know each other well, so curious to see if adjustments are made to deal with the familiarity.

Keep it competitive, play hard, it'll be a fun game during Autumn at JMU...that right there is success enough for me at this stage with Charlotte...we're playing!

Last week problems, I predict, won't happen this week. JMU is the strongest team we've played, so I expect struggles but a better performance.

So far so good for Charlotte football.

I didn't really like our chances of pulling the upset before but now I think it will be close to impossible with the rain that is expected. Our offense has been very much a passing oriented offense and our defense has struggled against the run. Not a good combo going into a game when it will probably be raining.
