I think it's basically a tossup between ECU & Marshall. I give the nod to ECU because of Marshall's loss to Ohio (I know the Bobcats are not a bad team but they aren't very good either) & based in part on the results for each team last season. I was higher on MTSU a few weeks ago. Tulsa & Rice are likely the class of the West but I don't think either team is in the class of ECU or Marshall.

Don't write off UNT yet. They look decent and decent can be great in CUSA.

Its hard to argue someone other than ECU/Marshall in the East.

West? I thought Tulsa, then I thought Rice, then La Tech is up and down...., UNT nuts up for a half against #9 UGA..... Anyone got a 7 sided dice?

I think we will have to wait til the end of the year. You can't compare this early on. OOC schedules are too different and teams have been experimenting some. I think the CUSA race will actually be pretty interesting this year. I don't think there is any team that is clearly far and away the best team.

we don't know. the conference schedule has yet to kick in for many teams.

North Texas is better than expected I think they will be competitive in all CUSA games, MTSU is doing well FAU's win against South Florida was great but they probably need to build on that for the future not in the top tier yet. East will be MU or ECU too close to call right now. West probably Rice but Tulsa is always a factor North Texas could be a factor.

O.K..

But just so you know it; another Marshall poster promised that you all would beat VT this week, before you lost to Ohio last week.

We haven't played our first team QB yet, so it's hard to tell how things will go.

Have not seen enough CUSA games yet to know but based on the limited schedule I would say ECU and Marshall are definitely going to end up deciding CUSA East barring unforeseen injuries. I give Marshall the edge in that game @home. I have not been impressed with any CUSA school over the first part of the season and the OOC games. VT is pretty bad by their standards this year so I was hoping ECU and Marshall would both take them down and definitely thought VT would at best go 1-1 vs the two of us.

had it been in Huntington with better officiating, who knows, but that was terrible, blatant no calls for VT and cheap calls for MU. I hate to put things on officiating but those were not ordinary plays, they were clutch plays, game changers.

Marshall and ECU have played similar schedules, with similar results. As expected, both have improved their defenses and their offenses can produce points. Both teams are still heading towards a Thanksgiving showdown, but if there is one thing you learn about playing in C-USA, anything is possible. WE have UTSA, Tulsa, MTSU, UAB, USM, FAU, FIU and ECU remaining on our schedule.

I'm also impressed with North Texas' play so far, along with Rice in the west and expect Tulsa to be stronger in conference. MTSU joins Marshall and ECU in the East.

I for one am ready for conference play starting, in earnest, in week six. This has bee a tough OOC season for C-USA. We have to do better in that regard.

Marshall. Cato is the difference. If he was at TAMU his name would be Manziel.

Woah woah woah... You beat UTEP, that was a decent win, but when UTSA comes all the way to the East Coast against a pissed off Marshall team on their homecoming, I have a feeling you won't share those sentiments anymore.

The next 2 games will tell. UH and Marshall. Win one and USTA is legit.

With all due respect, Fear The Beak, we don't deserve to be in the conversation right now. Glad we got the win, but victories over New Mexico and UTEP prove little. Houston will be a better measuring stick considering they're 3-0 and looked impressive against a tough Rice team yesterday. Home or not, we'll have to be at our best to have a shot next week.

I predicted 3 to 4 wins only so we're almost there.
