Watch out for #38 from MTSU. Linebacker.

That guy arrives at the ball like a freight train.

I am a huge Herd fan and we are improving as a team and program, but to say we will curb stomp a team on the road is just plain lunacy. Put down the kool aid bong.

ONE Herd fan has an outlier prediction and you go fvcking apoplectic.

I don't think we will curb stomp MTSU on the road, but I fully believe we will curb stop directional Carolina at home. Too bad only 150 Pirate fans will witness it.

I'm very interested to see what happens in this one. MT gave ECU a hell of a game when we went to Murfreesboro earlier in the year. Playing on the road is always tough and MT has a pretty decent team.

On the other hand, the Marshall coaches should have had no problem keeping the full attention of the team in practices after the near slip up @FAU. I think both teams will be fired up for this one and I think Marshall is just too good this year for the Blue Raiders.

MT had 300 yds rushing at FAU and won by 7 in OT with FAU having 5 TOS

Last wk NT had 300 yds rushing and MT had 129 plus 66 passing

NT only avgs 129 yds rushing

maybe the MT team was down from the loss the week before

I wouldnt risk ten dollars on this game

Why? The only way it affects us is if we manage to lose another conference game before we play Marshall. Either way we still have to beat them. Personally I'm hoping for 9-2 Marshall vs 9-2 ECU to decide the East.

Why do you gotta diss our entire university just bc SJ got on your nerves again? That's a little uncalled for. You may beat us at home but I'd be shocked if it was a blowout. We will be jacked up for that game just as much as Marshall will be.

Keep in mind that two years ago when you guys won in OT in Huntington that ECU team was the worst we've had since 2005. I know Marshall is better now as well but don't let that Tulane loss full you.

Firstly, Tulane really isn't that bad this year & secondly, & more importantly, ECU usually does better on the road when the stadium is packed (e.g.: @UNC). We play really well when we are the hero or the villain but we tend to struggle when the opposing fan-base is indifferent (e.g.:MT/Tulane).

I know some might laugh at this, but the #2 and #3 high school teams (both in Murfreesboro) in the state are playing about 2 miles from Floyd Stadium tomorrow night. Won't be surprised if there's 10k at that game. It's on TV as well. Should take a hit in the stands for sure.

And as stated earlier, damn cold. Other than when we played Mississippi State, 10/17/2013, game time temp 45, attendance 23K) we don't draw well at all when the temp drops below 50.

Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 55 at 3PM. Sunset is at 5:58PM. By 7PM, the temp is going to be 49 and dropping.

Planning on layering up and planty of anti-freeze (Jack Daniels).

I was surprised when my friend and I got 4 seats on the 50 yard line (2H I believe), 5 rows up, for $17/each on StubHub. I'm guessing between 1-2K Marshall fans will be there.

If you have that many fans, you will have brought the most of any travelling team in the 1-A era other than Miss. State and Tennessee State.

C-USA made us lose a section on the fifty due to a rule where students cannot be behind the visiting team. That's why those seats are open. They were not available to season ticket holders, either.

If the game was on a Saturday, I would guarantee at least 3k. Being Thursday night, most people have to take 2 days off work.

If it was a Saturday I would be there for sure. Thought about going to this one anyways, but there is just no way I can afford to miss the work. I still expect around 1k Marshall fans cause I know a lot of people going.

As far as the game goes. Man, I can't say we are a consistent team right now. We are close to putting it together but we haven't done that yet. It wouldn't surprise me if we won this game easily, close, or even ended up losing. Having said that I am going to go with a little gut/heart/hope here and say we START putting it together tomorrow.

Marshall- 31
MTSU- 17

Either way I look forward to officially starting conference games against MTSU.

SJ has trouble grasping that teams change throughout the year as new players step up, injuries occur, etc. FAU has gotten better since the second week of the season, they were rotating QBs and still trying to find an offensive identity. There is also a difference between playing at home and on the road.

Likewise, Middle has seemed to hit a rough stretch and Kilgore may not be 100%. They have also sustained injuries on the offensive line.

I expect a fairly close game, but if Marshall picks up the tempo, going back to how they played offense last year instead of the new "improved" version we have played this year, I could see a wide margin. I have respect for Middle, just don't think they have been playing their best ball lately and really looked out of sync last week.

A 9-2 Marshall v 9-2 ECU would be epic no doubt, but I think it would be more of a psychological advantage for the team going into the Marshall game knowing Marshall was beaten by a team we were able to get by and the fact that every team in the East (including Marshall) would have at least 2 losses in conference so we would win the East outright. But I can definitely see both being 9-2 in a regular season showdown.

I think, rather hope, that our team has fire in them. Hopefully we don't stink it up like usual, I predicted a small (24-21) Marshall victory over on our other site. Go Blue!

No they haven't. They were finding ways to lose in Week 2 and they found a way to lose in week 7. Come week 12 they will still be finding ways to lose, because they are a really young team that is sloppy.

Here are some facts you need to keep in mind:

Doc Holliday + MTSU home game = big advantage for MTSU.

Here are some stats that kind of indicate that this game will be close:

Scoring Offense
VT 23.1 ppg
MTSU 22.6 ppg
FAU 22.3 ppg

Scoring Defense
VT 15.0 ppg
FAU 26.0 ppg
MTSU 29.9 ppg

http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/c...team/28/p2

I have MTSU winning by a field goal, but we will see.
