Couldn't have saved the trip for the EPIC UTEP @ ECU basketball game?

Every single one between us in Minges has been one for the ages.

Tiebreakers, O'Cools, and Carolina Ale House are the T3 IMO. I like Ale Houses food but unless you get a booth/table the tall chairs at all the other tables makes chilling out for a full game kind of hard on the ole back.

RE: Question to ECU fans...
If you're staying after the game I'd recommend heading out to winslows. Great beer and burgers (43+ beers on tap, many more bottles) and a nice but casual atmosphere. Might be worth a venture pre-game too depending on the crowd at ale house..winslows is definitely my favorite.

My crowd is the 18-26 year old range. You're welcome to come hang out, we have a good time, but I would imagine that the others provide a more legitimate tailgating experience than a bunch of frat boys. We will have beer though and a neat spot.... I may actually have a friend with very good (cheap) tix for sale. PM if youre interested, I can at least hook you up with a brew and some directions to legitimate tailgates. 04-cheers

@chess, not a phi psi but our (26 year old+) alumni actually tailgate by minges and we are at the bottom of college hill. I havent really ventured that way. Only other spots I've been to are elmhurst and epps.

Edit: ill go ahead and throw in. I'm 22, pretty calm natured, and in my first year of grad school, so I don't get anywhere near as rambunctious as the other kids in the student lot (I guess the calm natured part is the only thing of significance. ..I've seen wild, drunk, old grad students). I wouldn't mind venturing to a few tailgates to meet some people instead of sitting around spc.

Utepsal, I'm also from the jacksonville area if you need directions coming from that way, and I have a house .25 miles from the stadium if you need a place to park.

Here are some of the locations mentioned already in Google Maps:

If you park downtown, there is a gameday shuttle that will take you to the Stadium for free.

Freeboot Friday is Friday afternoon if you plan to stay the night

Oh man, my neck of the woods. I miss that place. Have you gone to the O House yet in Jacksonville?

I remember when I would go to the ECU games I would stay at a hotel that had a rounded bar in the lobby. Great times in that place.

I will definitely check out all these suggestions. If you see some guy walking around with a UTEP shirt or UTEP sweatshirt, thats me. Ill represent the miners since basketball season just started. I will probably be the only UTEP fan you all see there. I will PM some of you guys by friday. and thanks for the info. By the way, I have not been to the O house. I do have to check it out though

Carolina Ale house is great! They actually have one here in Jacksonville. I see Bojangles is really big here in Carolina. I see more of these restaurants than I see KFC.

Bojangles > rest

Man I miss Bojangles. We can replicate the BBQ, but not bojangles. Man I miss Bojangles.

RE: Question to ECU fans...
If you are still in Jacksonville the week of Thanksgiving I have a football suggestion. The high school semi-finals (eastern and western championships) are normally that weekend. One of the best teams I've ever seen was Havlock in (I think) 2011. I saw them play Cleveland and man were they amazing. They are very good again this year and if things fall into place as expected they will be playing at home. It is just down the road from Jacksonville. Check it out if you get a chance.

I don't go to either for the "chicken". Instead, it is all about the sandwiches and biscuits. I think that Bojangles wins that battle with the exception of Popeye's crawfish poboy.

That's not accurate. Bojangles was founded in Charlotte. Tands Is a Kinston North Carolina company that owns most of the Bojangles franchises in eastern North Carolina and has since 1980.
