In the last year, I've watched: "American Horror Story: Coven" , "The Killing" , "Dexter" , "Ray Donovan" , "Hell on Wheels" and "Copper."
"Dexter" and "Copper" are done and "The Killing" will have a six episode final run on Netflix.
Everyone should give "Those Who Kill" a look see. Only two episodes and I haven't decided if it will be a long term watch. Usually takes me one or two episodes to decide if I don't like something but 4 or 5 to decide to continue.

It's really bad. They took the Danish show and watched the Bridge and made Sevigny a whinier Sonya without the Asperger's. The Dr. is like the dude from Hannibal. It's just a mish-mash of other shows.

Luther ended? I haven't seen the most recent season but I didn't realize it would be the last one.

Current Favorite TV Shows
(03-05-2014 01:37 PM)GoodOwl Wrote: I got rid of television a few years ago. Did it in stages. First, got rid of HBO and the premium pay channels. Then got rid of cable altogether. Since I have only 1 television in the house and keep it in an armoire which can be closed, just stopped watching even over the air tv at all for a few years. Best decision I made in that it gave me oodles more time to read, spend time with my kid and get outside and walk/hike/exercise a lot more.
A year or so ago, a friend gave me a converter box and set of rabbit ears, so I watch the local news every now and again, and there are apparently about 40 or so free over the air channels nowadays, several free o-t-a movie channels and a free 24 hour o-t-a weather channel also available.
I do watch dvd's which I mostly pick up at the used cd store for far cheaper than retail (I do like going to Fry's once in a while, I'll admit.)
Occasionally, I like to put in a dvd or movie on the dvd player and watch.
Also, I surf youtube where many entire movies and tv shows are available completely for free.
On DVD last few years I've watched:
Breaking Bad--only have the last 8 episodes of last season to go. Waiting for price of dvd to come down or for it to show up used.
Battlestar Galactica--finished the original series and Galactica 1980. Got a copy of the reboot series premiere move and it looks much better done than the old one, except the extreme liberal bias is the only thing keeping me from trying out the full series. Well produced otherwise.
WKRP in Cincinnati unfortunately the dvd replaced and cut out all the original music, so it's a bit choppy. Only Season 1 was released, but it does contain my favorite line from the series: "As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!" Oh, the Humanity!
Seinfeld - have the complete original dvds with the salt and pepper shakers. Currently watching them all again and reading all the on-screen pop-up notes. Still one of the funniest shows ever. Beats anything on today.
Space 1999--used to watch this growing up and saw the box set used for just a few dollars. It's overall pretty bad writing and acting. The campy sets and costumes are hilarious, though! Wonder if the sci-fi channel would consider doing a reboot of this like they did with Galactica. probably would be even more liberal writing, though.
Start Trek The Original Series- I have the old dvd's with the original space scenes, not the newly redone computer-generated cgi Enterprise. I think the writing and themes in general of most of the stories in the original Star Trek holds up pretty well. A lot more rationally balanced than most leftist series are today.
Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes Golden Collection now that my kid is old enough to watch together I'm enjoying several of these dvds!
Pink Panther Collection ditto, plus Ant and Aardvark and The Inspector Collections as well.
I'd like to get the Carol Burnett Show on DVD as that was always one of my faves watching the reruns growing up.
I catch Hogan's Heroes, Emergency!, Twilight Zone and some other older sitcoms on o-t-a tv once in a while.
So I'm not opposed to tv, but I just haven't found much or heard of much today that makes me want to pay for tv ever again. Most sports are on the internet for little or free and there's always the sports bar if I need to.
The reboot of Battlestar Gallactica is one of the best shows ever.
It loses its liberal feel when different decisions have to be made.

As Lars the viking once said: "Enough of the killing and pillaging, let's get on with the raping."
