MT should be in the NIT instead of Utah or San Francisco. No reason those two schools should be in over MT, especially with the fan support we've had. No way is this a good ending though I'm pleased the team decided to do the right thing.

CBI is a huge letdown right now.

backwards happens sometimes. we were a #1 seed in the nit last year. how you face adversity is even more important than how you deal with success.

and let's remember, colleges are all about teaching young people important things. one of those things is NOT to take your ball and go home when you get hosed.

Your premise is way off EagleX. I know what trying means. It's the idea of quitting that I have a problem with. By foregoing a meaningless tournament they are not quitting and if you don't understand that then I pass the baton back as perhaps having a bigger problem.

Again, these guys deserved better and they know that. Four teams tied for the regular season conference championship and only one doesn't get to go the NCAA or NIT. What good does it do for them to go play if their heart is not there?

There is a big difference in your "backwards" and our "backwards." You fell 2 spots in NIT. Big deal... We got screwed after owning a share of the regular season championship (in our 1st year) and get CBI while Utah and San Francisco are picked above us. This decision is making a statement.

CIT is nonsense.

And what exactly makes the CBI legit?

Playing in the CBI or CIT is the equivalent of paying for sex. College is about teaching students to set the highest standards and not settling for anything less than that.

Perhaps, but there is one very important group that is getting the message and that's the returning players. This is not like football where you're going to get a full month of extra practice time. Perhaps a couple of more games could help the younger guys, but this is an important lesson for them. They've had difficulties in conference tournaments, and the seniors are doing the young guys a service by teaching them an important lesson about how to approach the season. Don't take a single practice or game for granted throughout the course of the season and take care of business at the end of the year when it counts the most.

that makes no sense.

If you have a senior laden team and they aren't interested in playing in it then better to just turn it down than show up and give no effort.

Sucks for MTSU - you'll have a good team and should be in the NIT with us.
