I've been saying this all year.....it's not always about the money, but you have to give your coach the right amount....
If we don't give DT another bump in base salary, I'm gonna be one pissed off alum.....
I know we can't keep him if the right opportunity arises.....but dadgummit.....we have to make it right in relative terms....
said this before...if we can fire ellllllllllllos, we can easily pay DT his proper due....

you really expect Tulsa & ECU to compete with the top of the AAC right away?
Tulsa much better shape than ECU. ECU is years away from being good. Tulsa however, is competitive right now. Plus recruiting will be easier n the AAC because of UConn, Memphis and Cincy. A three to five bid league has to have some attraction to it as a coach right.
I disagree with your assessment. IMO ECU would have been really good this year if they did not have so much attrition and even then ECU still finished with an overall winning record. It is all about ECU keeping kids.
more blah blah blah.....nothing on the floor to back it up....oops, forgot about that 3pt sharp shooter in richmond that did wonders.....
why are you still posting here other than to be a ninny......
Nothing to back it up? ECU won 23 games last year, which is the best win total in school history. ECU had another winning regular season this year, which means that ECU has winning seasons 3 out of the last 4 years. It is not beautiful, but you have to crawl before you can walk. USM has used quick fixes for their program just like UAB used to do by loading up on JUCO's. ECU has chosen to build through freshmen, so ECU's building process is a lot slower. It will be interesting to see which method is more sustainable.

RE: Tyndall or White to Tulsa.....
I think the other wild card for White or Tyndale might be that the current AAC contract calls for the majority of the AAC games to be broadcast nationally, including most of the tournament in prime time. I am not saying these guys would make Tulsa a permanent home, but if they are looking for career advancement it's hard not to desire national coverage vs very little. This is why BB has got to do something with the current basketball contract. having said this, I am impressed with La Tech and Southern Miss basketball.

U of L leaves. three bids max. Plus ecu and tulsa have been in the league with Memphis for how long???? If your not doing it year in and year out now your not going to.
It took Eustacy years to build USM up to the point where you all are now. So it is not like USM has been doing this year in and year out. Others schools build over time too, so it can be done.
i never said we have been. But you guys underachieve in your best and are pitiful in other years. Until uconn finds its next home, you in WAYYYY over your heads. Only way that group ever gets more than 3 is if a accident happens in the conf tourney.
When was the last season USM didn't win 20 games? When was the last time we weren't in the NIT or the NCAA? In both cases, when was the last time before that?
We've been damned good at basketball recently. Even James Green won a (REAL) C-USA tournament championship back in 2001. That happened when C-USA was a major league in basketball.

And my neighbor makes a whole bunch of money and since he's my neighbor I'll take credit for his success.
Cheesers, can't you guys just stick to what YOUR school does and not try to gain success that your school didn't earn.
It must be a sad life for you.

You have any information about where UConn is going?
nope....just know that they will....book it.....I bookmarked for future ref....
I'm sure they'll be near the top for any expansion. The question is who's expanding? With its grant of rights, no one will be leaving the ACC. The Big 12 would be a real stretch, and I doubt if the Big 10 is expanding soon--but they took Rutgers so who knows?
I just think expansion is dead for awhile.

ECU will not win the AAC next season, but they should be really competitive. And the AAC will probably have 5 bids next year at minimum.
Yep, SMU swept UConn this year.
yep.....and smu lost to miny-minnoso......
what the fk is your point.....in single elimination, anyone can lose.....
how are the mods allowing these stupid posts to continue....
My point in stating that they beat UConn twice was simply in agreement that SMU had a good team this past season and is viewed as conference contender next season.
Single elimination had nothing to do with those 2 wins.

that's the point....don't know when or the where....I just know it will happen...
their hoops is too good and too geographically aligned with the media clout....and their football has performed.....
cincy is the team that needs to be worried.....
memphis is going to get picked up before either if they can make football a priority....

I doubt it too. Dooley or a guy like Marvin Menzies seem perfect for the Tulsa job.

1st off you get a grand total of 600k more for all that exposure. Hardly a grand sum.
If our coverage is so dang bad why in the blazes does his name come up every-time a head coach gets a case of the walkin farts???
This has gotten funny actually. Those of us who know DT personally have heard him say what you read a week ago. He plans to be here until one of his dream jobs comes along. 4 of those 5 wont be open for a long time. The only one we are worried about is lsu. YET for some reason all the folks who wont be in our league and have refused to schedule us down the road are begging him to leave like it helps them. The only thing that would make this thread perfect is for someone from tulane to chime in.
