We dug a hole for ourselves that is so deep that 2-2 weeks simply are not going to cut it. I don't care who we are playing.

We need to sweep LA Tech and Tulane. No offense to those teams....but we won't get in the tourney without some sweeps and those are the two most possible.

We are just 2-4 against the Top 50 and 2-5 against the Top 100. Plenty of opportunities left against both.

Also need to sweep Charlotte in the final conference series.

3 UTSA 8-4 (126)
6 ODU 8-7 (31)

6 MTSU 8-7 (121)
9 Marshall 6-7 (189)
9 Tulane 6-7 (133)
11 FAU 5-10 (177)
12 La Tech 3-12 (207)
13 Charlotte 1-11 (212)

Herd is 7-7 after Sunday's loss to FAU.

With that being the case, Marshall should have a better RPI while Tulane will be slightly worse once corrected

No offense taken. We're terrible.

You are spot on here. Got to get some sweeps. And we have something like 13-15 games left this year vs top 100 RPI teams. The games are there for us to make a move. Personally don't see it happening though. Hope I'm wrong.

Biggest fear is we will do just enough to make keeping/firing Berry a debate, and it fractures our fan base.

Yep. That has been my fear all year. If we want to make a nice run and do some damage in the tourney, I'm all for that.

Otherwise, I just assume that we have a bad year and move on to the next guy.

Right now, it is looking like he will do just enough to keep his job.

Not sure how fractured our fanbase is, though. I feel like almost everyone I see on the boards wants him out.

I haven't seen anyone who wants to keep Berry. Most realize the recruiting classes that we have had come in and there hasn't been any results

I do believe Berry will get one more year though at least. The assistants though...

I honestly thought we should have replaced our hitting coach after last season. We have a terrible approach at the plate and are not nearly aggressive enough. In my opinion, this year if we don't make an regional then the entire staff should very likely be replaced.

This sounds like a pretty good prediction.

Well, I guess this officially puts the Monarchs "in the discussion."

If ODU can finish with an RPI of 25, they'll definitely be in the big middle of "the discussions".

I think that was most of us last year... we were willing to go with Berry if he made some assistant changes. He refused.
