Chapel Hill is the most underrated school in North Carolina? Whoever compiled that list needs to be checked into rehab.

Laughed after I took a quick look and saw a lot of so-called flagship schools listed. I'd say most of them were over funded, over rated schools.

That was my first thought at seeing UNC. The way people fawn all over that place stands in complete opposition to every piece of news that's come out of it recently.

TX A&M is so under-rated.

I mean UNC the so called flag ship U of NC is most underrated college in NC?

I haven't read the article, and after seeing these comments, I don't believe I will. It clearly would not be worth the time spent.

I believe the point of the article is that there is a decent school located in each state for people who aspire to go to an Ivy or similar. What they are saying is if you are applying to Harvard and Yale it may not be bad to back it up by applying to UNC if you live in North Carolina. They clearly mention the "safety school" strategy.

WVU underrated?!? I'm sure it's the top rated university in WV. Shouldn't underrated mean good school not getting recognition the Top Rated school is getting?

However, based on comments here, I submit that the ratings were based on the sport of Curling.......

Again, the article isn't saying wvu is underrated in a general context. The point of the article is that you can get a good education at these schools and don't have to jump off a bridge if you don't get in to Harvard.

Why do people alphabetize the states by their abbreviation, instead of alphabetizing the abbreviations by the state name? North Carolina doesn't come before New Mexico anymore than West Virginia comes after Wisconsin, especially if they took the time to actually write out the state names.

If they want to put WI before WV, I can live with that. But that doesn't (shouldn't) affect the order of the full names.

Banker-I did not read anything about an IVy school comparison. Are you inferring this ? The title says under rated by state, not incomparison to Ivy league schools. One could just as easily infer they mean most under rated in comparison to other schools within that state.

Or, maybe these questions hint at the fact that this list is meaningless. That's my take on it.

^ Bingo. Most list articles are nothing more than filler worth about the ....started to say ink they are written with but can't really say that anymore!
