you guys got the last vaguely gay has-been nba assistant coach retread that was literally run out of the NCAA for recruiting violations, and who's eligibility to coach was just recently restored.

ps. go phuck yourself.

it was born escalated. there are very few of our former conference brethren that I don't welcome with open arms, even if you are posting unpopular opinions on sensitive topics. very, very few.

but there are some that can just kiss my a$$. they don't show up unless it's to pour salt on someone's fresh wound. this is one of those guys.

he, and his phoney degree (everyone on the internets seems to have a biochemistry -- or some such -- degree with honors) can suck my dick.

(interesting. that last phrase is totally possible, yet "summa *** laud" is mangled)

And Greg Heiar wanted the job badly, but we wouldn't give him the time of day because of his previous relation to Eustachy.

I don't think that being associated with Eustacy- a man who was our coach and was very good at it - hurt Heiar's chances. If I'mwrong, then our AD is even worse than I thought.

From all sources I've talked to, this is exactly the reason he wasn't given a shot. It took Eustachy 8 years to get us into postseason I believe. Most of our fanbase disliked him and wanted him gone. I don't know anyone who was sad to see him go. People associated with him apparently have a bad connotation in our athletic department, despite how opposite of him they may be.

I didn't want Eustachy gone; he brought our program from the depths of hell to respectability. But I supported Tyndall from Day One.

If Sadler hires some great recruiters, I'll support him from that point onward.

I'll support Sadler and I think he may turn out to be good. I just feel like we hired him for the wrong reasons, and we got skunked by SFA.

I'm calling BS On Eustachy being disliked. Everyone knew he wasn't exactly a "Get to know you type" guy. (That's what got him in trouble in the first place!)

FWIW, I was one of the biggest LE supporters on these forums, so I'm probably biased.

And if someone with the recruiting ability of Heair was turned down because of his previous association with Larry E, then Wild Bill better RETHINK his criteria.. I want the best candidate, no matter who they were associated with in the past, as long as they want the -best- for USM athletics.

Hell, we didn't make the post-season under LE (despite some good years) until Heair was here, right? So he was the "missing ingredient", but because he was here with LE, we didn't want him? If that's Wild Bill's excuse, I'm VERY disappointed.

You have no idea how pissed I am right now......all very good points....I loved LE and what he did for our program.....

The last thing I heard from BM (my new fave acronym for him) is wanting to relocate the softball/soccer facilities......ARE YOU FKN KIDDING ME?

....fishing is now my favorite 'to-do' on saturdays and during basketball games...

I'm ashamed to be an alum right now.....

We can't pay a coach enough to stay....

fk my 'mater......

I'm flat out disgusted....

Relocate the softball facilities?? WTF is wrong with the current location?

Planning to add some parking back there for when we add that upper deck to MM Roberts perhaps?

I've said my piece a thousand times since the great divide (1/1/2013?) and I'm pretty much done. I'll just say that the joy I used to get from USM sports is something I miss very badly. We really had something great at USM for a while there, and I'm glad that I got to enjoy it.

Good luck with Bill McGillis. This guy sent our once great basketball program straight to the depths of hell by hiring Alvin Brooks as head coach, that was 20 years ago and it hasn't been the same since. Things look much better with the hiring of Kelvin Sampson, and a point could be made the Bill McGillis has gotten better at his job over the last 30 years but I would not bet my program future on that.

I think most UTEP fans can tell you that Doc Sadler is a good coach but a terrible recruiter. Some may say the only reason he had winning seasons at UTEP was because of the recruits that Billy Gillispie brought in. He failed at Nebraska with his own recruits. So I don't know how he will do at Southern Miss.

what a godd@m moronic move regarding priorities.....

and you thought the general was a mistake.....

elllllllllllloss was the second coming in relative terms......

I'm with you regarding your sentiment.....but, I still live here.....it's been sad to watch it happen....
