RE: Phil Steele preseason All-CUSA teams out
If Lemon is the best guard in CUSA he is 1A and Scott Inskeep is 1B. I think it is very close. Ashaad Mabry may be the best DT in CUSA. The Oklahoma State transfer is an absolute monster that demands double teams.

Lemon is the highest ranked OG on CBS's draft board for C-USA (16th). Inskeep is 31. Both are pretty impressive since that is a position that is usually dominated by the P5, and this obviously isn't definitive, but it's worth something.
In the same vein, Christian Covington is the #1 DT in the 2016 draft class. Mabry is not ranked in 2015.

Mabry's been highly undervalued since he got to UTSA. I've watched him every game and he is dominant. In fact its because of Mabry why the rest of the dline is so effective. Guys like Singletary and Brooks are able to rush the passer usually vs one on one defense. I suspect that Mabry will open a lot of eyes this year and move up the rankings

Yeah, I don't want to say those rankings are the end all, and you obviously know more about UTSA players than I do. I'm mostly still shocked that we have someone on top of a position ranking (other than kicker)

The other point regarding UTSA is that they are still a relative unknown in the football world. There is a strong possibility that many writers/pundits know little about UTSA at this point in our young existence. Sometimes I read articles about UTSA and it seems like the writer only skimmed over the box scores without really understanding or reporting on the program. Teams such as Rice have long and storied programs and their likely writers who have spent time covering CUSA schools and built up a solid reputation in the writer's community. Many of those who cover UTSA may be relatively unknown making their voice less important in a national contribution piece like rankings/preseason projections. This is really the first year UTSA is getting any preseason hype and I understand it will take time for the national media to recognize a 4 year old program.
By the way, Philip Gaines was rated fairly high last year so you shouldn't be that surprised

Phil Steele named Lemon to his Preseason All-American Team, and Lemon is the only non-P5 player named to the SB Nation All-Texas Team.
I'm sure Inskeep is a very good player, but Lemon is probably the best OL to come through North Texas since Brian Waters.

There is a big difference between being ranked as a mid rounder like Gaines and being ranked the #1 DT on the board, having an elite talent is huge for a CUSA school. Buffalo isn't known for much in college football, but most people know about Khalil Mack, it's a boon for the schools.
As for you comment on Lemon, I fail to see how you've come to that conclusion other than one plays for UTSA and the other plays for UNT. Soza>>> Thompson, see I just did it, it's not that hard to be objective.
