Why is Google celebrating the World Cup?
Yesterday and today have been Google doodles celebrating the World Cup. Have they not been watching the news? It's a war zone over there right now, hardly worth celebrating.

As surprising as this might come to $EC fans, it's kind of a big deal.

RE: Why is Google celebrating the World Cup?
Because Google is operated almost exclusively by left wing zealots who adore soccer. It has a very European feeling to them and with the influx of illegal immigrants that have poured in to the San Jose area, the white liberals are ready to embrace and promote soccer as a new American norm.

Whatever that's supposed to mean...

This is an even bigger deal to me. Any idea why these protesters are pissed off?

Without reading anything into it, I bet they're pissed off because FIFA is a crock of **** and this tournament will end up costing their country loads and loads of money. I know ESPN ran a piece or two about it, but haven't seen much national news.

Google is just another shill for liberals. The NFL, the NBA, and now Google for the World Cup. When will the liberal madness end?

It's a big deal here too, that is why the ESPN network is showing every single game.

Sure to us it is not as big as the Super Bowl, but it rivals many of the other sporting events here. Then again, it is absolutely huge in almost the entire rest of the world except maybe Afghanistan.

I basically hate everything about soccer. Just the site of it insights thoughts of socialism and far left ideology.

Not to mention if I knew anyone with a vuvuzela or was around people that enjoyed blowing that highly annoying piece of crap, I would probably beat them silly with it.

Soccer symbolizes the European culture we escaped.

It means, as sporting events go, it makes the BC$ title game look like the sack race at the county fair.

Yeah that's a good point, should have rephrased it as "not as big of a deal here"....because worldwide, this has to be as big (or bigger?) as the summer olympics.

You hate a lot of stuff. This does not surprise me at all.

The Vuvuzelas were pretty much specific to the South African World Cup. Yes, they became fleetingly popular with the youth due to the annoying sounds, but they have almost disappeared now.

You better stop worrying about the Europeans, its the brown people that are going to get you first. Look, there is one behind that tree!

I rant about protecting American culture here. IMO, soccer is not American.

That is the most awesome video I've ever seen!

I saw a guy at the gym wearing one of these the other day, I'm gonna have to order one.
