Its not true. EVen if someone tried to delete them, they are archived. Besides, are they saying they lost only Lerner's emails for those years, or everyone in the federal government? Because a crash isnt going to selectively purge a single person's email.

And dont worry about prosecuting Lerner. You have to time this right. If she's tried and convicted before OBlunder's term is up, he will simply pardon her.

a systems crash wouldn't perfectly and surgically remove onlly one person's emails from a redundant system designed to archive emails

This is a lie to buy more time. It's all about stalling until the president is out of office or America forgets.

The email data is there. The data is on a server and likely a back up server too. The IRS has to archive everything due to the nature of what they do.

But take heart…we aren't buying the "oops, her emails are gone and can't be recouped." Most of the rest of America aside from the true believers will see this for what it is and that is a coverup.

It is reported that only emails to/from Lerner to outside agencies. i.e. the WH, DOJ and congress. Democrat congressman was asking the IRS and the DOJ to investigate conservative groups with the WH calling the shots. So soon, they will be saying that they are not lost, when really what they will be saying is they can't produce them because of ... wait for it.... wait for it..... Executive privilege.

They really can't say the emails were lost because there had to be multiple back ups and even if the hard drives failed the data can still be recovered. They saved data from damage done by hurricane Sandy.

Ask Putin, he can get Snowden to pull them up.

Admiral Rogers:

First, thank you for your 33 years of, and continued service to, our country.

Second, as you probably read, the Internal Revenue Service informed the House Ways and Means Committee today they claim to “lost” all emails from former Exempt Organizations division director Lois Lerner for the period between January 2009 and April 2011.

According to chairman Camp, “The IRS claims it cannot produce emails written only to or from Lerner and outside agencies or groups, such as the White House, Treasury, Department of Justice, FEC, or Democrat offices” due to a “computer glitch.”

I am writing to request the Agency produce all metadata it has collected on all of Ms. Lerner’s email accounts for the period between January 2009 and April 2011.

The data may be transmitted to our Communications Director at Donny@mail.house.gov.

Your prompt cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated and will help establish how IRS and other personnel violated rights protected by the First Amendment.

I don't agree with you on Nixon since the technology of the day allowed for pretty easy erasing. I'll stipulate that it was unlikely to have been an accidental erasure and they most assuredly were intentionally destroyed but with no backup.

You could make the argument that Nixon wanted a complete record and would have been against any erasure but he may have relented or Haldeman may have instructed Ms Woods to do it.
