Even though our exterior is steel, all interior infrastructure is concrete so it doesn't give off the erector set feel that BHNS does.

Interesting, I wonder if that accounts for why they smell differently. TDUTSA smells like humiliation while BHNS smells like victory. 07-coffee3

I tried to get tickets for this game for months but they were not selling single game tickets. Finally, a couple weeks out I picked up the 3 game package to be sure I'd have tix for the opener. Seems like UH waited very late to start selling single games.

In hindsight, if they had made available and pushed single game tix, might the opener have sold out easier?

Anyway, I hope next season they have some big name opponent so we get pics like these, but with a finished stadium and sold out crowd!

It was a sellout. Not everyone is going to be in their seats at the same time.

Don't know exactly what a sell out is. Capacity had been placed at 40k The announed number was actually over 40K. I thought it was a sell out. I did notice that the corners were not completely full. Maybe a corporation bought the last few tickets? Idk.

Well I might be wrong then... I just saw the empty corners and assumed it didn't sell out. We're not talking about much tho.. if it didn't sell out it was close. But a photo at 100% capacity would sure look great!

No need to get mad at us, we're not the reason you're stuck with a aluminum/chain link fence stadium for the next 50+ years.

Are there plans for expansion? Talk about throwing good money after bad.

Some people left there house late like the did in the past and sat in traffic until late in the 2nd quarter. That's why you saw empty seats. The theater in downtown is getting remodeled and they using UH theater, they had opening night the same time the game was going on. New Larger stadium, plus the theater, threw people off, they were not used to that many people all on campus and were use to leaving home 1hr before the game like they did in the past. That won't cut anymore. I think people learned there lesson.

The empty corners were seats returned by UTSA the week of the game. They returned nearly 2,000 tickets out of an allotment of 3,500. TDECU purchased 1,000 of those tickets to give out to their members. Likely that not all 1,000 went used considering the weather and forecast. I know overflow student attendance was sent to the upper deck corners so they eventually filled in but by the time the sections were getting full, people starting leaving because the team sucked. There was likely a 5 minute window in the 2nd quarter when the place looked fairly packed, especially considering the 4-5 row deep crowd on the main concourse behind the student section.

Well, that and those folks who decided to cozy up near the band on the concourse rather than go up to the nosebleeds...04-rock
