RE: Not a fun night at the U. (CCST 31-27)
Did Towson have a print, radio or TV ad program this year to buy tickets? The only thing I saw was e-mails to existing ticket holders or people that bought tickets in the past.

I am not sure how much he thinks $3500.00 can buy you.
RE: Things that Tim Leonard needs to know about Towson Athletics
My advice to Tim would be to keep the momentum moving forward with TU Athletics. Winning 7 championships last year was a major push forward for the program and was the first time since I was a student in the early 80s we have all of our major sports winning. We have some great coaches and also have some great facilities, the CAA Basketball Tournaments for women and men here in our area, plus the men's basketball team has rehabilitated the bad academics from the years of Coach Kennedy. Build on the positives.
I like that Tim is going to take his time and go out and listen to a lot of people before making changes. The one area where we need to start making some noise is in fundraising. My contact on the search committee told me that this was the #1 thing that they were looking at when searching for the new AD. Getting people in Baltimore to give money to Towson is the driver for future success and for the ability to stay in division 1. The trouble is that alumni and the community have never given big to Towson as a whole, or to Athletics. That is not anything new but if this success is going to be long term we all need to call the Tiger Club and give generously to support the program.
To me there are several programs that are in need of change. The Track & Field Program is not very competitive nor are the Girls Soccer, Softball, Golf or Tennis programs. These coaches need to step up their performance or move on. Out of these the track program seems the most out of whack as they have had the same coaches for a long time and the results are always middle of the pack or worse in the CAA. All of the coaches are also men, which seems odd since our team is all women.

As far as I know, they didn't do any advertising in print, radio or TV. They have some mentions on 1057 the Fan to promote the games because it's on 1300 AM.

A season is not won or lost during a single 60 minutes of play. This team will bounce back. I expect 9 wins and a playoff berth. Go Tigers.

They have a long ways to go to get to 9 wins. We are going to go 1-2 at best to start the season. Not sure I saw this as a 9-win team even in camp. I did see a lot of playmakers on offense and defense and nobody made plays on Saturday so hopefully they start next week or at least in Dover.
I think you have to be realistic after starting five news guys on the line on Saturday. That will take time and we don't know if Connor is the answer to replace Pete. He has to throw a lot more accurately than he did against CCSU. And Victor is good, but he's not West. He doesn't make people miss. In fact, nobody made people miss Saturday.
I'm down but not to the point of the negative nancy's talking about the lack of season tickets and the program. That's on the administration. That's why I suggested more transfers. You don't replace the likes of T-West, Barr, Dangerfield, Ryan, Pike, Harris, Shaw, CJ, Davis, Clark, Gaddis, Love, Enders and Athens over the last two seasons w/o having to step back a bit.

In regards to transfers, when RA first came here he had ties to many of the FBS transfers as the recruiting coordinator at UConn. Now 5 years out, he doesn't have the in-depth relationships that he had back in the day. Can that affect the lower amount of transfers?
With the money that RA is making, to still not have a full time special teams coach amazes me. It seems like they put no emphasis on special teams and it's almost an after thought, even though it has played a pivotal role in the NDSU, Villanova, LSU games just off the top of my head.
