If some alien had to travel light years to get to Earth, then why would it stop on the Moon instead going the extra few miles to get here?

When I was about 10 (1989), I was helping my mom unload a few bales of hay and hovering over the tree line about 100 yards from us was something with red, yellow, and white lights. My mom was always a skeptic about those sort of things until we watched whatever it was whiz away towards the sky and was out of eyesight within seconds.

I have no doubt people that report sightings are genuinely truthful. They saw "something". What they saw was either man made or a natural phenomenon. There are on alien space crafts running around...period.

I would like to see a serious debate on these issues between two sides posing a serious case. I admit ignorance and would like to see some evidence on both sides from well researched people that know what they are talking about.

My sighting was in '89 so I would have had to have a camera on me at the time.
