GMU hasn't been good since Larranaga's recruits left. They'd be competitive in the CAA now, but are outmatched in the A-10.

Agreed. I wonder if Mason regrets the move at all

RE: MBB: other games of interest
I watched Paul Hewitt when he was a Georgia Tech. He recruited some excellent talent, which later showed up in the NBA, but I don't think I saw anyone leave GaTech any better than when they came in. He features no player development and limited skills as a bench coach. Pretty much the antithesis of Larranaga. I'm not sure what GMU was thinking...

Good day for the CAA, with Towson, CofC, Hofstra and Drexel all winning. Up to Delaware and Northeastern to finish it off tonight. May still end up being a down year for the CAA, but top to bottom have been solid against mid-majors early on.

Good day indeed, especially for Drexel. Just can't lose to Cornell.

Delaware is just bad this year. Down by 18 to 0-4 CSU Bakersfield with 1 minute to go. Why weren't they like this last year?

Northeastern up by 20 at half over Manhattan so the CAA will be 5-1 today.

Sit next to a fat guy at the beach if you want to look fit. Play GMU in basketball if you want to look like Louisville. The epic meltdown on masonhoops warms my heart....and, no, GMU would not be competitive in the CAA. W&M, NU, HU, and CoC would be ahead of Mason.

Wheels are totally off the bus in Blacksburg. Tech loses again at home by 21 to Northern Iowa.

Shame we don't have them on the docket this year, home or away.

Bad year for football and basketball at Tech - although let's not pretend that anything other than football matters in Blacksburg.

Nope. Beamer just got a new contract in August through the end of the 2018 season.

Only fallout will be that Mike London might get a pat on the back as he's asked to clean out his office. Not sure beating a bad Tech team can save him

He should have packed his bags last year.

ODU game looks scary - VCU did not play well today and had less than 20 at the half.

Elon beat Miami (OH).

Nova beat UDel badly, as expected.

RE: MBB: other games of interest
The biggest difficulty in the ODU and UNC contests are the long layoff due to exams. It is unavoidable and very wise scheduling to put Washington College in there on the 19th. Should be an interesting month of December. Both games this week are vital in the OOC rankings at the end of the year. I have no illusions that we are a 2 bid league, but any hope we have requires a 9-2 OOC slate. I am very pleased with Whitman and Schlotman. Adding them to Dixon, Thornton, Tarpey and Prewitt gives us a really solid team this year. I just hope they continue to develop as the year goes on. Rebounding is likely our biggest weakness, but the effort is really there so far. Malinowski appears to be #8 in the rotation.
