TU v Houston Observations
We may have played our best game - and of course still lost. Houston is bowl eligible, has good talent, a new stadium and was at home. So everything was in their favor yet we made a game of it. My opinion is our players are playing for their lives right now and see that their careers are on the line as well as the coaches jobs. So we are like a wounded animal. But we have so many deficiencies in talent and scheme, that no matter hoe hard we try, its a bit hopeless against a decent team.

Fortunately, this mess will end next week. We've thrown away several chances to win games, games that we could have and should have dominated. Two come to mind - Texas St and USF where we led and all we had to do was coast to victory. How we could lose those two is a complete mystery and if we HAD won them, might have saved the jobs of our staff. But its obvious there will be changes made. I just hope the AD is smart enough to fire and hire constructively.

TBH, next week, ECU, as strong and dominant as they are, should beware. A wounded animal is a dangerous one. After that, the reconstruction of TU FB begins. The program, the players and fan base have to all be reconstructed. That means every thing from the academic, strength, medical, equipment and support staff must be rebuilt. We need new offensive thinking as well as strategies that make sense. And the defense and kicking game just need more talent. We need to keep the good players we have and train them to "WIN".

RE: TU v Houston Observations
BB and the coaching staff have no idea how to game plan at the half. How many times have they been ahead at the half and come out and lose it badly. A bunch. If you are the opposing Coach and you are even half way decent at half time game planning you can win it walking away. It sucks but there you go. It doesn't help that the talent recruited isn't up to speed for Div I either. That's on coaching staff too. I don't lay all the recruiting blame on BB but there is plenty of blame to go around.

Think you are right the smart players do know that the current staff is on the chopping block should be playing for their future places. If a new staff comes comes in next year they will take a real close look at who kept trying and who just gave up. I figure a number of players will wind up having to transfer to continue their college career next season, if there is a new coaching staff.
