RE: Marshall vs WKU game thread! Game day!
I watched that game and I have to tip my hat to both Western Kentucky and Marshall for the awesome display of firepower and hard hitting that took place in that matchup yesterday, it was vintage football that the media, for some reason or another, doesn't give conferences like our credit for playing. Congratulations to the Hilltoppers, that was by far the gutsiest call by a head coach that I have seen in a Conference USA game this year to go for 2 in OT down by 1, talk about laying it all on the line, Coach Brohm has a set of brass ones for that move...Marshall has nothing to be ashamed of, what stood out with me the most was the determination not to lose, even being down by 3 TD's at one time, they kept fighting back, that is one of the things I love most about C-USA Football teams, from top to bottom, they do not quit...If I may ask, what happened with Devon Johnson? I missed most of the first half driving home from work and having to get 2 blown out tires dealt with...On my way to Hattiesburg now to root for my UAB Blazers, for what may be the final time, and I hope like heck I'm wrong about that...Please keep a good thought for us...Hell of a show you put on , WKU & Marshall...I may have witnessed the Conference USA Football Game Of The Year. pending the outcome of our clash with Southern Miss this afternoon...You both represented the conference and the game of football with unquestionable valor ...I stand in awe of you both....

There wasn't a shred of vintage football or hard hitting in it. Our father's would roll over in their graves to see what football has become. With that said, the fans got their money's worth. By the way, the Topper coach is my kind of coach, plays to win....

There were some hard hits in the game, but I would agree that it was not "vintage". There was not much trench warfare in this one. Both O-lines were dominant for the most part.

In response to Matrix. Devon Johnson got hit (cleanly) on his shoulder early and didn't return. I don't see how he could have done any better than his replacement though. Butler creamed us.
