Don't care. As long as we bring in a competent QB coach, we still have O'Korn the AAC rookie of the year and greg ward.

I don't think the players have been informed. I think the timetable is going to be for a Monday announcement. The bowl assignment will be announced today so maybe that's why we are trying to not step on that with a coaching announcement. Today---Monday....He is gone.

O'Korn has a good relationship with Livine... I wouldn't rule him out transferring.

They have a good relationship, but Levine still pulled him out of the starting lineup. I suspect JOK was a transfer risk anyway. A fresh start with a new incoming coach may be great for JOK. We just need to get this next hire right and everything else will fall in place.

The no-brainer:

Tom Herman
OC at Ohio St
40+ points and 500+ yards last two years
Broyles Finalist
10 years experience in state of Texas at Sam Houston St, Texas St, Rice
Urban Meyer tree (Urban's last 2 OCs were Steve Addazio and Dan Mullen)

The dark horse:

Jim Leavitt
49er LB Coach
Built USF from scratch into Ws over Florida St, Auburn, West Va, Pitt, UNC, Louisville, TCU, Syracuse, NC St, Cincy, Rutgers, UCF, etc.
Knows UH president Khator from USF days

I think we are better off with a current successful head coach. They have experience and a successful track record. They know how to be a head coach already (no learning curve)---and they have a successful staff that can be quickly plugged into the new program.

I'm not. The Financial Aid agreement he signed in August means he has a month left to make a decision, and his other offers likely got pulled when he signed it. Someone would have to jump on him quick after he reopened his recruitment to get him to leave.

This paragraph says it all:

Levine is 21-17 since being hired to replace Kevin Sumlin at the end of the 2011 regular season. His tenure has been marked by several embarrassing defeats, including a 17-point loss to Texas State and a 20-point loss to UTSA in the inaugural game at TDECU Stadium.

Looks like the mods are unnecessarily merging threads. That makes it complicated whenever you later come back to read a thread, and it's gone.

Don't think it will happen. He tried to recruit a UH commit to TCU last year and was caught redhanded. I won't post on a public message board that he broke a rule or that he bad-mouthed UH, but I will just say what he did rubbed people here the wrong way.
