Didn't Craig James kill 5 hookers at SMU?

Anyway, Leach would be a huge get for UH...I really hope you guys land this, would turn your program around. thus, a huge plus for the AAC!

*glares at you* No.

I want someone like, hell, Butch Davis or Jim Leavitt. (mtmedlin: He ain't yours now, is he? In other words, he's fair game.)

You cant have Leavitt! He is a great coach and works harder then anybody you will ever see. Hes not the friendliest individual and will piss off your media but the man will show up at 4 am and not go home till around 10 pm. Hes insane and did more with damn near nothing then any coach Ive seen.

With that said, I really would love to see him go to CSU. I bet he would do really well there and I would never have to root against our coach.

Funny thing is, there is a bumper crop of good coaches right now.
Butch Davis, Jim Leavitt, Bo Pelini, Greg Schiano, Ed Oregon... There really are quite a few guys to get for teams that are shopping.

Fox 26 News just played a phone conversation with Mack Rhoades. Mack said despite the rumors swirling, Levine is our coach. Tomorrows meeting is just a standard review meeting to discuss the past season. 04-chairshot

What else can he say? Usually the department does a better job of keeping things quiet. To their credit--if this has been going on as long as Im hearing, they did a pretty good job considering how many people would have had to have known.

Mack Rhoades doesn't want the same fall out as what happen to basketball, like current players wanting to transfer and/or perhaps losing the 15 recruiting stock.

And you never go public for a Monday meeting with your current head coach.

What Mack Rhoades did early today was post a "Now Hiring" sign publicly and more than a handful of candidates are checking in about the position.

I think Levine will be dismiss come Monday or perhaps be told to coach the team and be let go after the bowl game.

Michigan did. Levine is gone. Gibbs is the interim head coach until a replacement is found. UH will most likely be paying 1.5-2 million for the new coach. We are not playing around.

Is it an opinion or a fact of what you just stated here about Gibbs being the interim?!?

The money would be no problem. One of Leach's best friends is Yani Demeris. UH alum and owns a bunch of BBQ resturants in Houston dude is filthy rich....Tilman Fertitta owner of the Golden nugget and Landry resturants is Head of the BOR and is a Billionaire. We have the cash if the University wants him.

Fertitta been chillin with Wade Phillips a lot too - has been on the sidelines all year. Even Tulsa game. Paraded Wade around the new facilities.

New candidates have revived me on actually caring (I'm not saying I don't care - I went to every game this year. Even the last one by myself - just my give a sh*t levels have been at all times lows).

The candidate list on SI.com is a little disappointing. Other than Herman, Meacham, and maybe Babers---its guys I probably wouldn't take over Levine. I don't think this is the real list. I think the real list will be significantly better than that.

I like him and he was OC at Rice for a few years. Young and upcoming coach.

Think he will be the frontrunner.

I wish we would consider Jim Leavitt.

I think he would give the Coogs an O'Leary type hire that would steer the ship for a long time. O'Leary was a home run for UCF. He created a culture there that wouldn't have persisted for so long without a steady hand. If UCF had hired a job-hopper, they wouldn't be the same now.
Neither O'Leary or Leavitt were/are retread type hires. Neither has fizzled at any of their other stops.
