Noon games??
Is this just a terrible ACC/ESPN thing? I just noticed that our home games against Duke, UNC, and UVA are all at noon. This completely sucks! I pay a lot of money for my seats and this completely devalues their worth. If ESPN can cater to their big ticket SEC football games. Why can't they do the same for their big ticket ACC basketball games?

Georgia Tech played a litany of games all damn year that were noon kicks. Football drives the bus and even football was in the back seat.

Yeah, spend all those Years getting out of freedom hall to get Better control of scheduling and turn around to have ESPN control the Scheduling. 04-chairshot
Makes it hard to grab a Bite and/or Drink before games start. At least though it's not Noon on a Tuesday 04-cheers

What's so bad about a noon start time? I could see complaining about a 9PM start, but I don't really see how this devalues your seats.

Those are pretty good matchups. I don't get why they wouldn't be 7pm tips.

I don't get the devalue aspect but it is weird that UofL vs Duke/UVA/UNC all are at noon and not a more primetime ESPN tip.

:idea:bJust start tailgating at 8:00 a.m. and do brunch or breakfast. That is what my family does. 07-coffee3

Mimosas are a nice way to start the day.

RE: Noon games??
I saw that 1 of Coach K's top recruits is playing here in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday night in a big basketball showcase (Flyin' to the Hoop). Think he might have had a say in it so he could take a quick flight to Dayton and put in an appearance? Good possibility.

Over the past couple years I've seen Calipari come in on a helicopter to catch 1 of his commitment's games, Huggins, Beiheim, Sean Miller, Archie Miller, Brian Gregory, Matta, and Jamie Dixon in town. Quite a who's who of coaching comes in for this event every year as it is one of the best high school (not AAU) events all season.

No chance. This wasn't a flex game, it's been scheduled for noon since well before the season started. No way the UofL-Duke game time was decided so Coach K could go up to Dayton for a high school game.

RE: Noon games??
Its actually great business on the part of ESPN at our expense so to speak. They know that the Louisville market is the best in tv ratings for college bball with I'm sure the Research Triangle right behind. You put the premier games on during the day and put a less premiere team/game on in primetime and have much better chance to get top shelf ratings at noon and at primetime, instead of just throwing off the noon games and loading up the primetime spot with UL vs ???

Between the noon games and no game day at Yum Center yet, makes me think our basketball side of things haven't worked with ESPN as well as we have supposedly done on the football side.

My Cardinal Brothers just need to realize in the Grand Scheme College Basketball is a afterthought until Selection Sunday with most of the American Sports Public.

Just be glad that we have Football Games on a yearly basis with FSU, Clemson and games coming up with Miami, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech...07-coffee3

I'm not sure that's real applicable here Maize. We're comparing college basketball to college basketball. No one was complaining that a basketball game was slotted negatively compared to an NFL or college football playoff game.

That tournament and its teams were set well before the college season was set. Just sayin'...

Although, I'll follow up with the fact that I didn't see if Coach K made it or not. I saw Izzo did, however.
