awesome. Would have been a heck of a HC for us too, but I am sure he is laughing on the way to the bank at this point.

I hope he can work the same magic for the Browns offense as he did when he worked with the Raiders offense.

Hey sometimes you have to take a chance. This is how most coaches get their start.

I wonder if he had played QB at a MAC or CUSA school if they would be mocking the level of football he played...07-coffee3

That was a quote from the comments on the article, not from me. I was just relaying here cause the arm chair QB said JMU was division 2. It is even worst that its a Ohio person when we have an ex-OSU coach as our HC. I imagine the raiders fans think he played D3.

The internet has taught me there's a lot of idiots out there. Reading comments on news sites on a story related to politics makes my eyes bleed.

And Jon Gruden played at Dayton. What a terrible coach that no one wants he is.

Congrats to Flip! He's a good guy, great teammate and I hope he is successful. He's got his hands full in Cleveland though.

It was the running game that dropped the Raiders all the way to dead last in Offense. The pass Offense was a solid 25th.

Cleveland has had something like 6 coordinators in 6 years....he couldn't be any worse than his predecessors plus they're probably running out of candidates. He was also with the Jets...believe they went to one or two AFC title games while he was there.

He was the OC at San Jose St. one year and was very successful. He has been a QB coach in the NFL for a good while. I would have liked to see John at JMU but we did pretty good with EW. Hope Jon is successful in Cleveland. I will be following them next year for sure.

Well deserved opportunity for John DeFilippo in the NFL. He would have ran barefoot from Oakland to Harrisonburg last year to be the head coach at JMU. As jmusuperfan said earlier, now he is laughing on the way to the bank

He's getting all kinds of run on ESPN for saying the Browns QB may not be in the building.

On PTI yesterday both Tony and Michael gave shout outs to JMU when talking about John DeFilippo.

Michael Wilbon: "JMU Baby!"

....it was pretty cool.
