Now we will sit back and wait for the commitments from 3 more 4* players tomorrow TJ Simmons, Tyrek Cole, and Kendall McFadden.

Doc is the ultimate closer in College football

From what website is it stating that howard is a 4*? He's got a .8209 composite on 247, and that's with his own 84 rating on that site included.

Also, flip is a strong word. I heard he didn't qualify academically at WVU

His relationship with the coaches up north went south. JaJaun Seider said some things about him on twitter after he decommitted that he would get reprimanded for anywhere else. Up there they will probably give him a gold star.

But then again why are you here. Are all the ECWho fans sick or something. Or do they not want to talk about their 10th ranked recruiting class so far, maybe they are jumping off bridges in Greenville.

LA Tech flips TJ King from UTSA and Courtney Wallace JR from Texas Tech the day before signing day. Skip Holtz getting it done in Ruston.

It is. Our Rivals guys posted that the La Tech Rivals guys reported it earlier today. Skip knows how to recruit.

I guess we'll see

@InsideUTSA: What happens with TJ King will be a mystery until he signs papers.

He'll end up at Abilene Christian or Incarnate Word. Something like that usually happens when someone this late can't make his mind up and then there is no room for him on either side.

Latest word coming out from Marshall is tha TJ Simmons wants a guarantee from Marshall or Temple that he will be a starting his Freshman year. Doc reportedly responded that if he came here he could compete for playing time this year but no guarantees. Temple is supposedly guaranteeing him he will start year one if he goes there. My guess is that he choses Temple.

RE: Recruiting/Signing Day Thread
We have 5 RB in the rotation right now with Devon Johnson, Stewart Butler, Remi Watson, Brandon Byrd and Tony Pittman. Ive said from the beginning that his decision would come down to 2 things. I don't see anyone knocking Johnson off the starting spot right now. Truth is he is just a difference maker:

1)Does he mind redshirting since we have 5 RBs in rotation, 3 that will be SRs.

2)Does he want to play for a winner at Marshall or does he want to go to Temple and play probably right away and hope to win. Temple's rushing game was horrid at 108th in the nation last year.

Here are Marshall's enrollees and signee's:

Enrolled Emanuel Byrd TE Georgia Military College
Enrolled Marquis Couch OLB Miami Central
Enrolled Damien Dozier DE Virginia Episcopal School
Enrolled Raylen Elzy WR Georgia Sports Prep Academy
Enrolled Chase Litton QB Wharton
7:30 a.m. Delvin Weems RB Tucker
7:36 a.m. George Davis OLB Fort Myers
7:37 a.m. Doyle Grimes OLB South Dade
7:38 a.m. Levi Brown OL Heard County
7:39 a.m. Hakeem Bailey Pebblebrook
7:48 a.m. Reggie Rogers WR Washington
7:56 a.m. Von Davis S Mount Dora
8:04 a.m. Roosevelt Lawrence DB Alonso
8:09 a.m. Alex Locklear OL Spring Valley
8:10 a.m. Antonio Howard CB Hialeah Miami Lakes
8:10 a.m. Simino Walden WR Hialeah Miami Lakes
8:25 a.m. LaTrell Nieves WR Colleton County
8:40 a.m. Larry Dunnon WR Palm Beach Central
8:51 a.m. Channing Hames DE St. Frances Academy
8:52 a.m. Ty Tyler DE Charlotte
8:53 a.m. Keivonte Gallmon WR Chickasaw
9:10 a.m. Jason Jean OL Miami Central
9:27 a.m. Leron Carn WR Woodland
11:07 a.m. Devontre'a Tyler Iowa Central Community College

After not knowing where he was going to end up and him not giving a firm commitment since Oct. Doyle Grimes is one of the 1st in the class to send his LOI in to Marshall. The Big Green Truck is starting to fill up a little. Antonio Howard and Simino Walden from what I understand are step brothers or half brothers, Ive seen it both ways so I don't know which is correct yet.

Keivonte Gallmon's recruiting got kinda crazy. Delta State less than a week ago put a tweet out and a press release that he would be there. But he has sent his LOI in at Marshall.

Devontre'a Tyler and Ty Tyler are cousins.

If that's true and that's his attitude, I'm not sure that I want him. That type of attitude and demand would not go far in a locker room, I'd imagine.

Typical. When a recruit doesn't pick your school you don't want him all of a sudden. Welcome to North Broad TJ Simmons.

Maybe for some, but for me, if it came down to Marshall vs Temple for this kid and he just came out and said he felt more comfortable and happy at Temple, I'd be totally fine with that. That's how signing day works sometimes. However, if a kid comes out of high school demanding a starting position as a freshman, which immediately disrespects and doesn't account for any other talent already on the roster, that's not something I'd want in the locker room really.

And if this is all true, I'd much rather have a Senior-class Devon Johnson starting than any freshman.

Absolutely false. We do not guarantee PT for football or basketball. That's not how Matt Rhule and Fran Dunphy do things. Hilarious spin by Marshall for Simmons spurning them.

I can believe the kid wants a starting job his freshman year, but I wouldn't think the Temple coaches would "guarantee" him the starting job. How good are Temples' RBs?

According to my sources, this kid is the "drama queen" type. At the end of the day, Temple guaranteed him the starting spot as a freshman whereas we simply couldn't and wouldn't do that. Now if this had been several years ago, we may have made that promise but our program right now is very deep at a lot of positions with RB being one of them.

Of course he does, but no one guaranteed it. What I'm sure they said is you will compete to start and have a chance to start. All of that is factual. For the genius Marshall fan that posted on Twitter how good Marshall's rushing numbers were and how average ours were, it just showed he has a great chance to start.

Our leading rushers from 2013 both had disappointing seasons, one of whom was injured. The other graduated. Our leading returning rusher had 384 yards last year and our 2nd leading rusher had 229 yards.

Nobody was going to come in and overtake Devon Johnson as the starter anyway. I dont care who you are. The kid averaged an NCAA high of 8.5 yards a carry last year. He will be a high draft NFL prospect coming into his senior year.

Again, absolutely false. That's not Temple and Matt Rhule's MO. Would never happen. We didn't guarantee 4* DB Kareem Ali a starting spot. We didn't guarantee 4* OL Aaron Ruff a starting spot as a freshman. We didn't guarantee DE Michael Dogbe a starting spot when Vandy tried to flip him late. We didn't guarantee DB Sean Chandler a starting spot when Rutgers wanted him.

I don't know who your sources are, but they suck.

Who the @#$% said he has spurned us. Temple absolutely sucks under Matt Rhule at 8-16, wasn't much better under Steve Addazio at 13-11 and had a losing record under Al Golden, 27-34. Addazio at 13-11 in 2 years is the 1st coach to leave Temple with a winning record since George Makris from 1960-69 who was a whopping 45-44-4.

If Simmons comes to Marshall he comes. It isn't like he will make or break our class like he would at Temple.

The Temple campus is also in one of the worst parts of Philly and Temple plays its games over 8 miles from campus, which most students at Temple probably don't even know when you play because most Temple fans would rather save their money on Sat and go watch the Eagles and Vinny Curry on Sunday.

Now back to manning the Marsshall signee's.

Yea, I would assume that situation might be more preferable to a kid super eager to start on day 1. There's no question that Devon Johnson will be our #1 RB in 2015. Butler and Watson will almost certainly be his backups, but after that it looks like we're mostly wide open. We've got 4 sophomore RB's coming into 2015 with only 1 of them (Pittman) getting any playing time thus far and nothing else that I see on the 2014 roster. Kid would have a damn good chance to compete for 2016 starting spot.

You're a clown. Make or break our recruiting class unlike yours? You're only 4 spots above us so we virtually have the same success this year recruiting and on top of that Temples average rating per player is higher.

You're a clown. Make or break our recruiting class unlike yours? You're only 4 spots above us so we virtually have the same success this year recruiting and on top of that Temples average rating per player is higher.

Plus we can't take non-qualifiers.
