A Yankee, Catholic school who is a partial member just in its second year in the conference did this??

I am not that excited about a conference championship (get to the Final Four and I will be impressed) but not bad for a school whose other sports "are worthless" and part of what I meant when I said it is not your Daddy's ACC any longer.

I think it is a sign of the times that things have changed quite a bit forever for the old Southern guard of the ACC.

Not that ND may ever repeat that feat but schools like Louisville, Pitt and Syracuse just might do so on a consistent basis. Its a new league.

I'll tell you how we are adjusting.......

Congratulations! We look forward to the competition again next year.

I hope the same holds true for U of L. The welcome wasn't exactly the best in the BE sometimes for us even though we brought very good teams and competition. Some I think truly resented that we won a bunch of titles in several sports over our years there. Actually we were second only to ND in total titles for conference season and tourneys while there -- way more than Nova, Cuse, Pitt, Gtown and the ones who had been there for years. The only one I definitely know we never got was the women's BB -- even though we finished 2nd a couple of times to UConn and made the NCAA champ game only to lose to UConn. We strive to be one of the best across the board in sports, big ones and Olympic ones, men and women.

I think the only thing ACC fans expect is that you play at least as well or better out of conference. Do that and we'll pat you on the back when you win in conference...

Of course the same holds true for Louisville, why wouldn't it?

People would rather be in reasonable driving distance to the tourney city and have it be situated where you can stay in a wider area that is still easily accessible to the venue. For me, I will drive as far north as DC and as far south as Atlanta. Greensboro is centrally located for the conference & reaches a wider swath of ACC alums & fans. I think the plan to farm the tourney out for some years is good, but having the majority of years in Greensboro makes the most sense.

Sounds like someone unknowing OR unwilling to experience change

Trips to NY do not have to be about several hundred dollar a night hotel stays... airfare to NY is cheaper usually that airfare from the north to the south this time of year!

For example, one can fly into Newark and take an airport shuttle to your hotel (usually FREE) or drive up to Jersey and park free in the hotel lots... then most hotels are either near public transport or have a free shuttle into Manhattan... For $30 you can buy an unlimited metrocard (good for a week) that will take care of any transportation needs during your Tournament Stay... NY has the most used, safe, and expansive public transportation network in America. There is so many FREE things to do around NY that when you're not at the games you do NOT have to spend a lot of money.

So staying in Jersey or one of the outlying Burroughs and taking a quick shuttle or train makes NY affordable and the ultimate conference visit! MSG and Barclay both sit literally on top of public transportation stations to make getting around so easy!
